What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.
I filled out everything above because I am also into antiques and appreciate vintage things. I have some old furniture and what not and will grab a decent autographed celebrity photo here and there although I have done some cheesy movies myself and worked with guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hulk Hogan. I like vintage movie posters and will grab some vintage music memorabilia if it catches my eye. My friend has one of the first photos of Lincoln with the cracked glass and I wanted to buy it but the price was in the millions. Old military stuff is very cool. I am always looking for old crocks. The ones with the big red wings are the oldest, followed by the ones with the smaller red wings. But for me the easiest collectibles are sports memorabilia. It is easy to grab an old vintage card and slap in to your collection or a plaque and put on the wall. I am also getting into autographed baseball bats and jerseys but I think any kind if signed gear is col. I am trying to find help on establishing the real value of some very unique sports collectibles I have that includes names like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jim Brown, and John Elway. I have some Cal Ripken Junior 24 karat gold porcelain 98-T Rookie cards that were authenticated by Rollie Fingers Authentication in neat authentication protectors. The Babe Ruth baseball is a real mystery with a little bit of a story and Japanese history behind all the information attached to it and it is supposedly from the 1934 Japan Barnstorming Tour.
What is your level of expertise?
Intermediate Collector, Long Time Lover
Why do you want to join Autograph Live?
I have been collecting for years and am getting more into collecting autographs or autographed memorabilia should I say. I have started to see all of these supposed authentication companies popping up, not just for autographs certification but also for grading. I notified eBay that they needed to start some kind of system to stop all the Reprint and Fake companies and forgeries, etc., going on with their site. I just happened to look up autograph forgeries or something of the sort and your site came up. So I came on here and read an interesting article about BOX SCORE COLLECTABLES and I liked it and agreed to it so thought I would join up here to see what is going on and to also make some new sports memorabilia associates.
Who can we thank for telling you about us?
A random online search on forgeries and or fake COA companies that lead me to your site.
What are your areas of interest?
Sports, History/Politics, Books/Literature, Modern Hollywood and Stage, Classic Hollywood and Stage, Music, SciFi, Horror, Space/Aviation/Military
Why do you collect?
Vintage things. And as a kid started collecting any card I could get my hands on. I guess it is because my grandpa did and he got me hooked. We used to find old townships and use metal detectors and long claw type rakes to dig up really cool old things and you never knew what your were going to find. I have a true appreciation for vintage things of all kinds. I even have old bottles and the old glass posts/insulators that used to hold the telephone lines on the poles. I have some of the very aged green and blue and even brown one's that we dug up.
What is your favorite autograph in your collection?
I would have to say this is a tie between Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Although the baseball is obviously stellar and widely recognized, I have a rather unique piece of Lou Gehrig memorabilia that is one of my favorites that looks like it came right out of the Baseball Hall of Fame as it has his immortal vintage brown and white photo of him finishing up a full swing at the plate, and off to the right on top is his signature and below this his lifetime stats. At the bottom of this it says INDUCTED INTO BASEBALL HALL OF FAME 1939. You probably know that the 1939 was the first year of its existence. OK, I figure you have had enough....Haaaa.
You can ask anyone living or dead for their autograph. Who would it be?
This is hard - Jesus - Moses - John Wayne - Vince Lombardi - Elvis - George Washington - Samson - Marilyn Monroe - Babe Ruth - Joe DiMaggio - Mickey Mantle - William Wallace - Leonidas - IBeethoven - Amadias - Nostrodamus - Charles Lindbergh - General Patton

Welcome to AML, CJ.

BoxScore Collectibles is one of dozens of "Florida" COAs that have infected the hobby with thousands upon thousands of forgeries.

As for Ebay, they used to have a team in place to eradicate the forgeries, but Ebay quickly observed that they were losing too much money by removing the forgeries.

Enjoy yourself here.  Lots of great people here!!!
