The Day I Met LITTLE RICHARD

Back in the day when you could go into a diner and put a quarter in the jukebox and hear your favorite ‘50s or ‘60s song, and Autograph Magazine was in newsstands...I wrote about the day I met Little Richard. That was probably 15 years ago, so I’ll write a much shorter version of that story, since I woke up to find he has…

JB Meets JB -- The Birthday Autograph Story

As a movie critic, I’m often lucky enough to meet or interview celebrities I’m a fan of. Sometimes that happens in unexpected ways. For example, a few days ago I was driving into a radio station to do my weekly movie reviews. On another radio station (which is in the same building), I happened to hear a comedian/actor that’s one of my favorites -- JB Smoove. Now, as a movie critic, my two favorite movies featuring Chuck Berry would be “Hail! Hail! Rock ‘n Roll.” I only saw it once, and seem to recall Keith Richards got punched out in it.…

Autographed Broken Guitars

There are lots and lots of great autographed guitar stories out there. I thought I’d share some that involve broken guitars.

The one that involves a guitar I own is a bit frustrating. Mostly because it left me with an item that isn’t all that interesting to look…

Put on a Happy Face -- Autographs With Drawings

Recently on this site, a woman posted an autograph she got from Paul McCartney with a smiley face drawn on it. She needed to sell it, and we got the most commonly asked question we get  – “Is this autograph authentic?”

The amount of people that go buy some garbage on eBay and only find out later it’s bogus, baffles the mind. Yet it really shouldn’t. I’m guessing 90% of all autograph collectors have been burned at some point. It could’ve been on eBay, or a shop you trusted, an estate…
