When I went to a party at director James Cameron’s house, I loved the Shelby Cobra he had out front. It was also cool to see the dashboard was signed by Shelby Cobra.
When I’ve seen signatures on cars, it’s usually on the dashboard. Sometimes there have been things like that car hood signed by musicians at various MTV awards (there was a thread about it on this website before).
I thought about all the car signatures with the story yesterday of Pope Francis signing the hood of a white Lamborghini at the Vatican. It was a special edition Lamborghini Huracan. That’s a car worth $200,000, but I’m guessing the signature raises the value a bit. Although, the first time you take that through the car wash at Soapy Joe’s … it’ll be back to its original value. Not sure why he didn’t sign the sun visor or something.
The Vatican is auctioning the car with proceeds going to three charities, one of which helps rebuild homes and churches in Iraq; another helps sex-trafficking victims, and the third helps development projects in Africa.
With all these charities they’re trying to help, it makes me wonder if they’ll also hand the Pope some 8x10s to sign as well. I’m not very religious, but I’d pay for an 8x10 if he inscribed it with something like “To Josh, You may be going to hell, but I always liked ya, Sincerely, Pope F.”
