OK, I'll bite....Where exactly did Charles Manson sell a postcard he wrote?  Does Charlie have an EBAY account?

No hard feeling rick..I guess I look at it a possible item that would increase in value over the years...only sold 2 autographs out of my whole collection...one was a stupid mistake not looking at the value of the autograph and the other well the price was right. But the collection will go to my daughter when I die...so she really hammers me when I talk of selling one!

Rick no I wrote to Charles Manson many years ago...he responded by sending me a post card...was real interesting..you can tell by what he wrote, he was either not all there or he was just writing to play with the jail guards...because he sounded way out there,,,then in the middle he answered the question I had asked him. But Charles didn't sell it, I sold it to a guy I know who wanted to buy it.

Never had a hard feeling. I just find it very interesting why some collect these. I'm sure there is value to it to somebody. While I wouldn't want it I would want say a Billy the Kid, Doc Holliday or Jesse James. Just dont see McVeigh, Manson, Gacy ever being turned into legendary folklore.

I've seen authentic signatures from both McVeigh and Michael Fortier. Numerous signatures of both actually. I shredded them in 1996.

I think people in todays world think negative about it because it was a terrorist attack on our soil. Just like the Trade Center. And no I don't have anyone connected with that. But when I wrote to Manson, I had asked if he could do it over again, would he? With McVeigh...it was really hard for me to write something to him...it was just a quick enclosed is a magazine with your pic on the front, could you sign it for me?

Regarding price guides, I remember looking through the Sanders price guides in the 90's as reference.  However, with the expansion of the internet and especially Ebay, it seems like printed price guides are semi-obsolete.  If you look for a celebrity autograph on ebay, prices can be all over the place - even for authentic items.  Even if there are guides out there still in print, I have a suspicion they might exclude McVeigh due to the limited number of verified authentic examples and the foggy market for memorabilia related to him.

You could always ask R&R if they ever sold one.  It might give some insight as to what you could expect at auction.
