"First... WOW on the Neal Adams commission. Fantastic. I have a Adam's Conan sketch on a comic backing board I picked up cheap many years ago for like $75. Prices are through the roof now on comic art. Glad I bought what I did back in the 90s. I…"

"There are three JLLs on that page. I’d be surprised if any of them were signed by him. "

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
"I did not interpret the previous comments to mean that ONLY the proxy underlines. Rather the proxy tends to underline consistently. And when viewed as part of a constellation of other atypical traits, the underlining is another brick in the wall."

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
"No way. Completely disregard seller claims. This has every hallmark of the secretary. And from the evidence we have seen from verified in person exemplars, they are never this carefully done. Never. Signatures like this only appear through the mail."

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
"Against my better judgement, going through a lot of these images, it's starting to appear the TTM signatures are grouping into four buckets:  the tall skinny JLL with all well defined letters and no slant the squat loopy JLL with all well…"

Steve Zarelli replied to ZSamuels28's discussion Stan Lee - Excelsior Auto
"Wow that seems high. In any case, typically CGC Signature Series will hold the most value because they are witnessed and sealed. It's not an opinion that the signature is authentic. That said, most signatures are NOT witnessed. In that case,…"

Steve Zarelli replied to ZSamuels28's discussion Stan Lee - Excelsior Auto
"Signature looks ok to me.  CGC Signature Series typically sells for more because those are witnessed signatures and they are sealed in a tamper proof slab."

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
"Yep. As I wrote, the exemplars being used are corrupted. Some unknown guy saying he got it in person is not a verified exemplar IMO. "

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
"Here is a crazy thought... Maybe someone else is signing the through the mail requests. The slant is way off, they are much too smooth and each letter is carefully applied. But sometimes the proxy gets real close on certain words or letter…"

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
"Precisely, Henry K. In my collector and professional experience, when you run across a signature group that has significantly better definition and each and every letter is neatly applied, it usually means one thing -- proxy signer."

Steve Zarelli replied to Mark Roberts's discussion STUDY: Jerry Lee Lewis - TTM real or not real
