So, I just moved into a new place. It's always fun when you do that, to go through all your autographs and admire the things you've acquired over the years.
Anyway, I have about 100 albums...well, maybe 50...that I bought from an estate sale. They're all autographed "To Bill" or "Bill." They're usually followed by something along the lines of "best wishes" but usually, more like "Thank you so much for all of your support."
There are some big, big names in this collection, from 50s 60s and 70s musicians/singers.
I'm not the biggest fan of personalized autographs, and I'd be willing to sell these at a good price (I remember buying them at a good price). That doesn't mean I want to give them away.
There is absolutely NO DOUBT that these autographs are authentic, either. But I'd gladly give a money back guarantee if somebody deems one not to be.
Anyway, if there are any Bill's on this site...or somebody that just doesn't mind personalized autographs (some collectors like that more, because they were less likely to be forged, as a forger realizes they're worth a bit less, and it's more writing in the celebrities hand that can be analyzed to be proven fake; therefore, some collectors would prefer that).
I don't want to go all through the albums and tell you the artists...UNLESS I get a few messages here from folks that express interest.
So, what do you guys think?
This is the list. Let me know what you're interested in and what you'll offer me per specific album:
The ones at the end, not inscribed (you'll see the quicker list at bottom), those aren't inscribed, and I'm not so eager to part with, but...if you offered me a good price, I certainly would sell one or two of each of those artists.
Let me know (email me directly: joshboard87@gmail.com
ALBUMS FOR SALE (the first bunch, because they’re personalized; second list, I have 5 or more of and am willing to part with one or two, for the right price):
YNGWIE MALMSTEEN -- Marching Out
Too Todd! Yng Malmsteen (black paint pen, easy to read, great sign)
NATALIE COLE -- Live!
“To Bill, Love ya, Natalie Cole” (white paint pen on black background, underlines name)
THE BEACH BOYS -- Endless Summer
To Bill, Brian Wilson (one of his nicer signatures, but still that sloppy Wilson style)
It’s in blue Sharpie, over a ball point pen signature of somebody else I can’t read. That makes this, rather frustrating, as it’s obviously signed by two Beach Boys
JANE FONDA -- Fonda’s Workout Record
Kathy, Peace, Jane Fonda. (great signature in silver paint pen, she’s sexy on cover, with legs spread in leotards)
QUIET RIOT -- Mental Heath
To Mark, Kevin DuBrow (on cover, in black sharpie, his signature is messy, and part of his last name over the black leather jacket on cover). Back cover: band members each sign by their photos, NOT personalized, and easy to read
The RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS -- The Best of
To Bill, Best Wishes, Bill Medley (at top), bottom signed without personalization by Hatfield. Album in suprisingly good condition since it’s a 1966 release (one small ripped part at bottom, that’s it)
BOBBY VEE -- I Remember Buddy Holly
Bill, the beat goes on….! Bobby Vee (signed in blue marker, very easy to read signature, on an old album in great condition)
ROY CLARK -- I Never Picked Cotton
To “Bill” My Best, Roy Clark. Great signature in left corner, not overlapping any of the words or photo (no album with the cover)
THE RUNAWAYS -- Little Lost Girls
Bill, Love Joan Jett (signed in Sharpie, her signature is a bit hard to read, as she signs over the black jacket she’s wearing, but you can read it in the light); album in perfect condition, but looks like a Rhino reissue, not an original
GIUFFRIA (1983 band from Greg Giuffria of band Angel) -- album with “promotion only” stamp (usually those are radio station issued). Inscribed with messages from each band member, all signed “To Ron”
PETER, PAUL, AND MARY -- In the Wind
Signed nicely by Mary in left corner (no personalize), another band member in the right corner (not personalized). One band member signed it, and personalized it “To Mark” but that’s on the photo of band, and it’s hard to read the personalization, so it would look nice framed and not draw attention to the personalization part. A 1963 album in great condition
DON McLEAN -- American Pie
To Mark, Don McLean. (awesome signature, signed right on his hand, so it shows up perfectly. Album in perfect condition
LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM (fleetwood mac) -- Law and Order (1981 album)
Mark, Thanks, Lindsey Buckingham (great signature that shows up nicely, on right side of album, not over his face
THE TOKENS -- It’s a happening world
“To Bill” written in left corner. The rest of the band signed it away from the personalization, under album title (four or five signatures, first names only, with one writing “best wishes”)
Date on album written on back as 8/1/67 and radio station call letters
RICK SPRINGFIELD -- Working Class Dog (signed on the back, over his white T-shirt, big sitnature, easy to read) Thanx Bill, Rick Springfield
STEVE MILLER BAND -- The Joker (signed in silver paint pen, over his black leather jacket. Clear signature, easy to read: For Mark Steve Miller
STING -- Nada Como El Sol (written in dark black ball point pen over his nose and mouth, easy to read, except for the name personalized to) To Carmichil, Si Estamos Mitos, Sting (I’m not sure I got the Spanish correct there, or the first name). Album in perfect condition
PAUL WILLIAMS -- Just an Old Fashioned Love Song (signed on white border, so it doesn’t mess up the photo on front, and signature easy to read) To Vern & Paula, Love and Light, Paul Williams
PATTI LABELLE -- I’m in Love Again (signed in blue Sharpie, you can read, but it’s written over her fur coat, but clearly legible) Dear Bill, Love Patti Labelle
BETTE MIDLER -- No Frills. (signed on white caricature of herself, very easy to read, in silver pen) To Johnny, Love and XXX Bette Midler
PETULA CLARK -- Memphis (1970 album, cover in solid condition, except for a hardcore ring around it, from where record made indention) clear signature, over white shirt she’s wearing:
Bill, Petula, ‘86
CONNIE FRANCIS -- Connie & Clyde (cute album photo, perfect condtion) To Bill, Love Connie Francis
PET SHOP BOYS -- Actually (a few spots on ride side of album, otherwise, perfect condtion)
In left corner inscribed “to Kris and Stacey” on bottom, underneat their photos, signed by both band members
CARL PERKINS -- Live at Austin City Limits (signed in black, over his blue shirt, which is good, because entire album is black, so you can read signature perfect)
To Bill, Thanks, Carl Perkins ‘82 (or maybe 87); perfect condition album
SMOKEY ROBINSON -- Where There’s Smoke...beautifully written signature: To Bill, Happy Listening, Smokey Robinson. (very clear to read entire thing, and I’ve seen some messy Smoky signatures over the years)
LIONEL RICHIE -- Dancing on the Ceiling (perfect condtion album, written big on white part of his shirt) To Bill, Lionel Richie 2001 (his signature looks nice, but almost like it’s just his initials)
DELBERT McCLINTON -- The Jealous Kind (perfect condition, easy to read, written in black ball point pen over the sky “Thanks! Bill, Delbert
MARTHA RAYE -- (two album set of The Hollywood Years, Never Say Die, The TV Years). Album in perfect condition. She signed on back, and looks like she was an old lady when she signed it: Bless you Bill, Martha Raye
NIA PEEPLES -- 12 single for “Trouble” inscribed: To Michael, all the best in 92! Love, Nia Peeples (no record inside)
CHUCK MANGIONE -- Live at the Hollywod Bowl (two album set in perfect condition) -- For Bill, Chuck Mangione (wrote something beneath his name, looks like “Feels so Good” but not positive). Easy to read, in terms of where it’s signed, but he has a weird signature
MAUREEN McGOVERN -- The Morning After (1973 album; great condition) To Bill, This is me with the other rose and the long blonde hair! All the Best, Maureen McGovern
The 5th DIMENSION -- Up, Up, and Away (album in perfect condition, and this is the best possible personalization, as you don’t notice it). Each band member signed name, with message like “Be Good” or “Sincerely,”. One of them wrote “Happiness to Bill,” and signed her name, but you barely notice the “Bill” on the hot air balloon
The 5th DIMENSION -- The Age of Aquarius -- entire band signed, same description as above
THE FOLLOWING ALBUMS ARE NOT INSCRIBED, but I have 5 copies of each, and wouldn't mind selling one or two, for the right price: Dolly Parton, The Hollies, BJ Thomas, Mac Davis, Frankie Valli, Lindsay Buckingham, Brenda Lee, Ted Nugent, Jan and Dean, The Moody Blues, Styx, Cheap Trick, and Love (signed by two: Arthur Lee and Johnny Nichols)
I am not showing pictures. If I start doing that, it makes this whole thing a lot of work for me, and besides...I don't even know how to do that properly on my camera. If you're interested, I'll give you a detailed description.
If you get the item from me and don't like it...or ANYBODY credible says it's not real, I'll gladly refund you your money.
