Good point. I don't know NASCAR or have even looked into it, certified or not. I trust that Brandon is as careful with it at Global as he is with NASCAR on this site. But NASCAR is a tiny percentage of third-party authenticated autographs and a very small percentage of Global's certifications in the market.

My statement below about Global, PSA/DNA and JSA is based on their certifications as a whole. Just as PSA and JSA have weak areas, like some Hollywood secretarials as you know. But taken as an entire population, an autograph certified by them is likely to be genuine.

My agenda is to protect people from forgeries. It's this site's main purpose, and I'll continue to speak my mind as long as I'm in autographs. But you're right, I'm not primarily a moderator. I'm a community administrator. I'll change that label soon. Thanks.

Those pridefight2003 Packers footballs are garbage - at least the recycled photo is very, very clearly a forgery.

that being said then the 2 sales that were cancelled will give the buyers a chance to recoup their funds presuming "the "recycled photo" and the items are one and the same.  My 6th sense antennae suspects they are at this point;

Mr. Cyrkin does one helluva job here!!!!  Some of us here absolutely have an agenda!!!  And our agenda is to expose forgeries.  

So yes, we absolutely have an agenda!!!  Whether Steve is a moderator or administrator, his agenda (and mine) remains the same.

Mr. Cyrkin sticks his neck out to expose forgeries and that is to be commended.

In response to Mr. Sipe's post, I did a quick search on "GA" certs on ebay, and found that a very high percentage of "GA" certed items appear to be authentic.  There are no Jeter's or Mantle's, which I find a little strange.  but I have noticed that GA needs some work on authenticating Yastrzemski signatures, as he is 0 for 3 with Yaz items currently on ebay.

The Derek Jeter sigs with GA certs were first being removed months ago.  There were two main sellers on Ebay (dirty_water_ink and graphingusa) who sold hundreds of Jeter garbage over a 2 1/2 year period.

Ebay has done a great job removing that stuff when it does appear.  Seems to be cleaned up now.

Since is is not easy to convey emotion on a blog let me state that this is not an attack and I have what I believe to be the best intentions for all.

I am OK with exposing forgeries and that is an obvious agenda of this site not just Steve. I am here to help with that effort as well and I do my best. For the most part this site works well and appears to be putting a dent in the forgery business. Yay! I hate the malicious sale of inauthentic material more than you might ever imagine.

I can assure you I personally helped (stuck my neck out as you call it) put a huge dent in the sale of forgeries over the last couple of years.

I am NOT, however, OK with blanket statements that are, in fact, not true and that is something Steve does on occasion and whenever I see it I bring it up. Simple as that. I hope he notices that I am not attacking him just giving my opinion and that is all this site really is anyway- people's personal opinion.

It is just not the right thing to do (blanket statements) especially since the agenda of this site ,as you have written, is to 'expose forgeries'. Remember we also have the responsibility to expose AUTHENTIC material as well. And everything we write here will be indexed by Google and then somehow taken as fact when people search for information relating to what we do here.
