Enthused as a young child collecting comic books and signed baseball cards, I have spent the last twenty years collecting autographed golf balls. I claim to have one of the largest private collections of signed balls in the U.S. I have written a book that offers a firsthand account of my passion for seeking signatures on more than 230 golf balls. The title of my book is Hooked on Autographs. In my hobby memoir, I introduce readers to the behind-the-scenes excitement of tracking down celebrities for their autographs. From Arnold Palmer to Tiger Wooods, to Jack Lemmon and Bob Hope, to President George H.W. Bush and President Gerald Ford, I have gathered their personal autographs and recount the stories that go along with the hunt. Always thoughtful, my respectful approach has been rewarded time and again. Readers will come away with a better understanding and appreciation of the art of collecting autographs, but also revel in the near-miss antics and poignant sweep of my pursuit.
