Sorry, but I think it's a neatly drawn rendition of a Janis autograph in silver sharpie.
I don't recall silver sharpies in the late 1960's. Lots of pens we have today weren't around then. I used to get autographs with a grease pencil or a prismacolor in order to get a signature in color. Can any experts comment on when sharpies and then metallic sharpies became common?
What online auction was it in? I doubt it is authentic as I've never seen a "Janis" with a sharpie!

I bought it on Proxibid. I did list it on eBay, but began to think there was a problem with it.

In my opinion this is not real. It is very rare to find a signed album by Janis Joplin.
