Hi I need some help please I came across a hand wrote letter from John M Stotsenburg and singed by him,I am in need of any information where to send this to find out if it is the real deal or not. I also would like to know if anyone has any clue to the value of this letter if it is real thanks Brenda

He's not listed in the Sander's Price Guide. It's almost certainly real, since he's not a desirable name as far as I know. The value is probably low, but I have no idea if he has a following. Wish I could help more,

Brenda, my research shows that John M. Stotsenberg was a Captain of the 6th U.S.Cavalry and a Colonel of the First Nebraska Volunteers. He was killed in the Philippines while leading his regiment in action on April 23, 1899. Clark Air Base was originally established as Fort Stotsenburg in Sapang Bato, Angeles, in the Philippines in 1903 under control of the U.S. Army. Don't know the value of his autograph. It would have some value to a military collector. Depends on content.
