Herman Darvick replied to no name's discussion 'Autograph Quarterly Magazine'
The last copy of "Autograph Quarterly" magazine I received in the mail was "Volume One Issue Three September 2011." I received it on September 10, 2011.  Haven't received Issue Four yet. The Home page…

Herman Darvick replied to Brandon Mysinger's discussion 'Are these Babe Ruth, Gehrig, Presidential, Monroe, etc...autographs real?'
In my opinion, the signatures of the 31st President Herbert Hoover, 34th President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and 35th President John Kennedy are forgeries.

Herman Darvick replied to Brandon Mysinger's discussion 'Are these Babe Ruth, Gehrig, Presidential, Monroe, etc...autographs real?'
If the item "has been authenticated by numerous experts in regards to Marilyn Monroe," why aren't they listed by name? If an "expert" does not want his/her name mentioned, I would immediately question the alleged expertise…

Herman Darvick commented on Louie reeves's blog post 'J. Edgar Hoover Autograph Exemplars: Good/Bad/Secretarials/Stamps? Chime In!'
I don't believe that in the 44 years since I first became editor of "The Pen and Quill" and began receiving photocopies of autographs through the mail from UACC members, that I have ever seen a J. Edgar Hoover Autopen signature.

Herman Darvick replied to Mike's discussion 'President Ford and Reagan...Thoughts?'
In my opinion, the Reagan is a forgery. The Ford looks good at first glance but a few things bother me: (1) When Ford signed his name on a sheet of paper, a letter, even a photograph, he almost always slanted it up to the right, as much as a 30…

Herman Darvick replied to Andreas Wiemer's discussion 'John F. Kennedy - Charles Hamilton mistake' in the group U.S. Presidential Autographs
It's obvious that the signature identified as an Arthur Sutton forgery is the exact same one shown by Hamilton in his "Robot" book at the conclusion of a typed letter. I agree with Andreas that this Kennedy signature is authentic.

Rog, It's because hundreds of millions of dollars in forgeries are sold every year, with profit margins of often 10-times or more than the margins on genuine autographs. Because of that, the fraudsters are much better organized and have better…
