How long is a Guarantee of Authenticity valid?

Before bidding at any autograph auction, not just on eBay, even from a very reputable dealer, be sure you know that there are some reputable dealers whose guarantee of authenticity expires after a certain length of time, sometimes shorter than you would expect. Carefully read the Terms of Sale in any auction catalogue whether online or hardcopy. And that a Third Party Authentication is just an opinion, albeit a respected opinion. You must also always get a guarantee of authenticity from the…See More

Through the Mail in the 1960s

Just thought I would share this: When I starting collecting autographs in the 1960s, through the mail, I asked questions, I gave my opinions, always enclosed return postage (International Reply Coupons for foreign letters) and, at the end, asked for an autograph. That's how I got the autographs, through the mail, of Charlie Chaplin on a photograph, Pablo Picasso on an art reproduction, and a letter to me from Charles de Gaulle.See More

The “Eisenhower Cabin,” one of ten cabins on the Augusta National property, was built by the golf club’s membership for member Dwight D. Eisenhower after his election as President of the United States. He had joined the club in 1948 and had visited Augusta National five times before his election, 29 times while President, and 11 times after he left office. His stays there were at times lengthy. The cabin was built according to Secret Service security guidelines, and, during his presidency,…

Both Shirley Temple and Grace Kelly signed autographs through the mail after their movie careers.

22-year-old Shirley Temple married Charles Black in 1950 and signed "Shirley Temple Black" if you sent her a movie still.

26-year-old Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956 and signed "Grace de Monaco" on photographs picturing her as Princess.

Hello,

I understand you know alot about Presidential signatures. I have two letters from JFK sent in 1958 that I found among my Dad's papers. Can I send you an image of the letters?

Thanks
