MICKEY MANTLE AUTHENTIC EXEMPLARS... READ ALL ABOUT IT!

I just wanted to post these here to see what Fudd the Lowly Mantle Collector can do to help stop the flood of forgeries into the market place. The goal is that we can all start educating ourselves before we buy. To see what a beautiful signature the Mick had, and to learn to distinguish it from the obvious forgeries at first glance. Something TTA, STAT, DREW MAX, GAI GLOBAL (Baker certs) My Favorite Players Reborn (Tony Podsada) & Christopher Morales can't seem to do....at all? You will almost never see a signature in this photo album collection that would match or come close to anything that has been certed by any of those guys. Maybe you'll find 1 in a 1000 if you're lucky. To tell the difference between what an original hand signed Photo by the Mick looks like vs. an obvious Fake at first glance is easy. Give it a try. It's Fun!

As has been told many times, The Mick made more in one signing than his dad did in 1 year. He felt obligated to his fans to give them a "work of art". He did this by signing on just the right spot for the particular photograph he was presented. The size of his signature was determined by how big the sweet spot was. He knew EXACTLY how to fit his signature in so it looked perfect. A thing of beauty really. Please note that these are not all the same signature over and over, but merely a sample from my collection. What I do know is that these are consistent with the WAY Mantle signed and structured his Autograph as we know it. Good luck! FUDD

Hi Rick John, thanks for stumbling upon this blog and learning the mick's signature...run through the slideshow several times and study these vs. the fake "you got". I'd send it back to where you got it ASAP.

As for the ball DB, yes that is a standard forgery from "FAKE at HOME", which I have rarely, if ever seen anything good accompanied by this certificate. Probably one of the best places the forgers moved their bad stuff in the "Operation Bullpen" days.

Remember that name folks "FAKE at HOME" and that should alleviate 1 of the 3,000 landmines when you try to buy an autograph.

Rick, it's definitely fake. We have many examples of that kind of Mickey Mantle fake on this site. Where did you get it? Sorry for the bad news.

Thank you all for your quick response! I am an avid Yankee memorabilia collector and I love pictures that are signed. But, unfortunately I flopped on this . I got it off of Craigslist...

Hi, not sure if this thread is dead or just in hibernation.  I picked up a Mickey Mantle signed ball about 15 years ago and has been in the closet until this Christmas when I looked through for first time in 15 years.  After reading this thread and other Fake vs. Real Mickey Mantle autographs, I still can't tell if this is a 1. a good fake 2. the real deal or 3. I just don't know enough to make the call.  Can anyone give me an opinion on this ball.  Would like to get it authenticated but if it is an obvious fake would like to save the money. Thanks in advance for opinions

Fudd would agree, not even a good forgery...I think I'll add some authentic baseballs to the Blog and update the pics for new collector looking for some research material. Thanks for finding this. I was looking for it myself yesterday and couldn't find it (LOL)

thanks for the quick responses.  The sports memorabilia store I bought from is still open...maybe I'll pay them a visit demand my 100 1998 dollars back or come back with an authentic Babe Ruth baseball bat :)
