A guy in Wisconsin got President Obama to sign a cheesehead. If you aren't familiar with those...well, the Green Bay Packer fans where this styrofoam block of cheese on their heads at games. And, well, I'm guessing other times, too. We only see them when they're at the frozen tundra, supporting the Pack.
One lucky fan got the President to sign his, and he had planned on selling it on eBay. He decided at the last minute, to donate it to a museum.
I thought that was a great move, but laughed when I heard him say he wanted "everyone to enjoy it."
It just sounds funny, to think that others will "enjoy" looking at a fake block of cheese, autographed by our President. Now, if he let a different fan wear it during each game...maybe then they're enjoying it.
I was enjoying David Letterman a few nights ago (no, no...I didn't mean that to sound like one of his interns). And often times, you see clips of celebrities signing autographs as they walk in. They usually sign about 10 before walking in. TMZ reported that Tom Hanks a few weeks ago, signed for every single fan.
Anyway, I've never, in my 20 years of watching Dave, saw him sign autographs. Even the few times I watched his show live.
But there he was, coming back from a commercial, signing a program for an older couple, and writing a message on it.
He then said on the air, "They are celebrating 40 years of marriage."
As the crowd applauded, I wondered how much longer he'd be married.
He then used the old joke about "had I killed my husband 40 years ago, I would've been out 20 years ago!"
The crowd loved it.
And one lucky couple got a cool, autographed souvenoir of the happy occasion.
