Oh, the Humanity! An Autographed Beer Bottle from Hindenburg Disaster

A signed bottle of Lowenbrau beer, recovered from the 1937 disaster that killed 38, is going on the auction block. And they're hoping to get $8,000 for it.

But all you beer drinkers, be warned. Beer doesn't age like a fine wine. Or Twinkies. About 20% has already evaporated from the bottle, and it probably tastes horrid.

A New Jersey firefighter found it on the scene, and it has scorch marks. Most of the label is intact.

I'm not clear on WHO autographed the piece, and I'm guessing the autograph isn't what is making this piece of...uh, memorabilia...worth the thousands.

Auction is this weekend. Find Henry Aldridge and Sons if interested.

(on a side note: I need to find out if Lowenbrau is still around. I'm guessing they'd be interested)

That's pretty unigue Josh, to say the least. Much like Titanic survivors signing b&w photos of the ship. Personally, I don't see the fascination, but who am I to judge? ( I do have several pieces of the Berlin wall, however, none are in any way autographed)

I'd get the Berlin wall signed, if it was the right person. Perhaps Teri Nunn, the singer of the group Berlin (Metro, Take my Breath Away, Sex). How cool would it be to have a moon rock signed by one of the astronauts?
