Michael Selby replied to Steverino's discussion Kim Novak / Tony Curtis / Mickey Rooney - Secretarial?
"This is the Curtis from the 2007 Americana set, there seems to be some similarity to yours. The Rooney looks too neat to be his signature."

Michael Selby replied to Joseph B. Rayder's discussion My First Post: A Night to Remember 1958 Still and 1973 SP Kenneth More
"Great movie! Here are the two sigs I have from it."

Michael Selby replied to Vinnie Cataldo's discussion Question about my Mötley Crüe poster I got on eBay
"Have to admit $100 seems low but I have seen different signature placement on a few of these so I doubt it is a pre-print. The Tommy Lee jumps out as authentic immediately and the Vince looks good as well. I have three of the four with the Sixx…"

Michael Selby replied to Lou reves's discussion Jerry Lewis Panini autograph cards
"I know this is an old thread and I have not heard anything either way on the Panini Jerry Lewis cards but Panini has a string of produced cards that places their ethics into question. As far as I am concerned their COA is worthless. Not that I…"

Michael Selby replied to Colby S's discussion AutographCOA
"Michelle and Joe, thanks for the input. Recently I have been reading of authentication sticker fraud and when I look up a standard PSA or JSA item the descriptions can be very generic. They don't photograph the item so there are a ton of…"

Michael Selby replied to Colby S's discussion AutographCOA
"I have actually been in the market to get some items authenticated. The three ring circus of JSA PSA and Beckett does not interest me. The fact that none of them actually maintain a photo of your item is pretty sad especially given how much money…"

Michael Selby replied to Doctor Loomis's discussion Harrison Ford Early Career Full Signature
"So you think if the cost of an autograph is high that it is not a good idea to get a second set of eyes on it? Sorry, I have seen plenty of dumb stuff with the zombie authentication crew but if I am going to shell out stupid money for a signature…"

Michael Selby replied to Steve Zarelli's discussion Charlton Heston Secretarial Signature Study
"Also, the original card company (sadly no longer with us) is probably free from blame as this was created back in 2007. I don't believe it was widely known that Charlton's TTM sigs were fake at the time and many reputable dealers were…"

Michael Selby replied to Steve Zarelli's discussion Charlton Heston Secretarial Signature Study
"Jason, Yeah, it was pointed out to me that the Carradine/Cheadle card was never authenticated by Beckett but they most likely provided encapsulation services for Razor and they tossed on whatever name Razor gave them. Problem is it creates…"

Michael Selby replied to Doctor Loomis's discussion Harrison Ford Early Career Full Signature
"Check this out from a few years ago. Harrison Ford Autograph Study I understand the whole trusted dealer thing but it seems to me that the value of some autographs finally reach a point where getting them authenticated becomes necessary to sell."

Michael Selby replied to Steve Zarelli's discussion Charlton Heston Secretarial Signature Study
"Unfortunately the slab companies offer so many services that it becomes confusing to collectors who do not normally deal with them. Came across this one where I guess Beckett just slabs items without looking at them. I informed the seller they were…"

Michael Selby replied to Rusty Jenkins's discussion I sold a gorgeous $10k dollar [Tom Petty] signed LP for $50 because of the "opinion" of folks here.
"I wish I could sell all of my fake autographs for $50. Tom Petty is at the point where you get off your cheap ass and get it authenticated."

Michael Selby replied to Fabulous's discussion Carrie Fisher Autograph. Is it real?
"Yeah, the last name is definitely off from anything I have seen from her since around 2000. She was not much for dotting her "i"s. If it is claimed to be earlier then the seller should get it authenticated before selling."

Advanced Collector
What is your favorite autograph in your collection?
Most valuable is probably Chris Pratt (upper deck) or Arnold (Comic Images)

One of my favorite signatures is M Emmet Walsh. It's almost more art than signature.
Why do you collect?
There is just something about the connection an autograph brings between the fan and the celebrity. I enjoy meeting many of the influences in my life. I often collect to an end goal or project. Many of my cards are digitally displayed as casts for well know films.
You can ask anyone living or dead for their autograph. Who would it be?
Wow! So many. I would think a single item signed by both George Patton and Adolf Hitler.
