Merle Haggard autograph?

Hello, so I found this autograph on one of my records. I just want some opinions on if you guys think it's authentic or not.

Nope. Pretty sure Merle knows how to spell his own name.

There is slight remnants of a letter after the L. It seems like whatever they wrote with is fading, and somewhat getting smeared. There's another autograph on this record and it is smudged. I was just thinking this might be a legit signature and the letter got rubbed off. It does look eeriley similar to Merle's signature.

I worked for Merle for a few years selling merchandise.. In my opinion this is NOT his signature

Thank you for your time! I didn't really know what to think of this signature. I've studied some of his signatures and thought this could be an autograph from the 80's or so, as it's also autographed by Jack Green from T-Rex. Thank you, once again!
