We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Not an online sale, but Reckless Records is getting Arcade Fire in for a signing next Saturday. This was a pretty big surprise to everyone - including the store.

Anyone going to this event? I would love to get a signed vinyl copy if more than one is allowed......lmk. Mike

Very light traffic at the store this morning. Big announcement of an intimate Arcade Fire after show kind of overshadowed it, but it really came out of the blu. It seemed like info was very, very slowly spreading on SM.

Did u get a ticket for it?

Yep.

I grabbed two albums and two wristbands myself, same as you. As of Sunday afternoon, when I went, they still had plenty of wristbands to hand out. They told me I don't need to bring an extra person with me, but I'm waiting for them to confirm.

A nice little treat before the Metro show later that night.

I totally whiffed on the Metro show. As I was driving back (about an hour and 15 min drive there), I was thinking, "Am I forgetting something?" I realized I'd forgotten about the show in the midst of focusing on the signing.

Reckless didn't seem to care too much about how many - but I was thinking that the band might. They said anything "within reason" was fine. Having heard some of the Win Butler stories I have, I'm still not sure what to expect.

Tickets sold out in two, three minutes tops, and I was lucky enough to grab a pair. I almost whiffed when it didn't accept my credit card info at first, so I had to re-enter everything in frantically, but thankfully got through.

The signing if from 3:30-5, so we shall see how that goes. I'm planning on getting there early to get the best signatures possible, and hopefully a photo of the band signing. I know you're not allowed photos *with* the band, but a picture of the group and my albums would be neat.

Any insight on how many wristbands they have? Those are supposedly guaranteed entry, though it was inferred you could wait in line without a wrist band (with no guarantees obviously).

I called around 1pm this afternoon and was told they had "plenty" of wristbands left, and they didn't seem too bothered when I asked if I could buy two records and get two wristbands. They didn't tell me it was one record per person, either, so I'm assuming I can go in there with two copies and get them both signed. You can always try calling them and seeing how many they have left.

That's pretty wild. I was so worried about not getting there before opening. But when I got there (around 10, 15 minutes after they went on sale), I didn't see much activity in the area. When I went inside there was hardly a line, if you can even call it that. People did wait outside before opening, but just a few (this photo is from a fan on Twitter).
