We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Hi Steve,

I could not responds directly under your question. The image was made using two autographs one on top of another. It shows the same exact signature. So exact I was wondering if your question would be asked. If you look carefully you will see this is 2 signatures together. It shows most in the last letters of the last name. When I return from the Dr. this afternoon I will make a more...visible...image if anyone wants it.

Eric:

Thanks for the explanation...I could have been clearer but was wondering about the signature on the 3rd cd or last picture of this series in the previous post by Rich (I couldn't put this reply there).   To me it looks different than the first two or am I missing something...thanks again....I ordered the vinyl and am not sure if it would be a different situation than with the cd's...I haven't received it yet or a notice that it was sent..

Hi Steve,

Yes, the 3rd is likely another Autopen template (see the RACC post about 2 templates - I did not); I did not bother finding a match yesterday. The 3rd looked much like the two shown in overlay - but it is correct not to call Autopen until a match is found, which is why I showed just the two. I can tell you I saw many on eBay that are from the template shown in the composite image.

KInd of sending a mixed signal dont you think?  So they are stating that indeed the items are hand signed, but are issuing a refund (maybe) due to your concern they are not.  This whole thing is weird

Very weird, no doubt about it. But I'm just happy I'm getting some money back on this tbh.

What wording are you using to request a refund on the Lana del Ray and Demi Lovato.

Pretty much just a straightforward "I'd like a refund, here are my order numbers." But I make it sound polite and professional. I think that goes a long way.

Sorry. I probably should have been more clear. What I meant is how do you explain the reason. On the Lana Del Rey, they say you have to return the item which by the time you do that you are out significant money anyway as they charged you a lot to ship and then return it. The shipping is probably more than the item itself.

I just told them I had heard they used an auto pen and that I didn't pay for forgeries. Nothing beyond that, really.

Received confirmation for my other two cancelations.

I replied to each order confirmation email individually with some variation of the following:

Please also cancel and refund this order (#DEMI2579). I've been advised (with proof) that all Demi Lovato signed preorders were signed via autopen, not by Demi herself.

Aaaannndd  . . .. they shipped it anyway.
