I wish i had found this site before buying my first autograph! It's a Bowie. And i've looked at so many examples from over the years and was hoping that this one might be the real thing. There isn't the usual curve into the top of the B and there's no dot over the I. It seems to have flow but i cant tell whether the last digit is a 3 or a 5. Any opinions would be most welcomed. Cheers!

Hello, very sorry but that is not David Bowie's signature.

Here are some genuine 2013 Bowie signatures. Click to enlarge:

Thank you Eric for that conformation. I had my doubts right away. Fortunately the ebay seller has a return policy.

Hello, that seller has been mentioned here before  - same di/b. Problem source. Rock $ Roll, Gleason etc. Bad business. And remember, an authentic Bowie signed 45 sleeve will be a LOT more than $115. Last authentic vintage sleeve I saw with a rather rushed In Person signature brought $775.

Hello, the last example in the first batch and the first example in the last batch of 2013's I posted above are duplicate. Sorry.

And a 2015:

Wow! That one is amazing. What a beautiful thing to own. I've had two opportunities in my life to get Bowie's signature personally and failed to do so each time. I will keep at it!

If you sweet talk Eric (haha) he has a beautiful '10 Bowie for sale.

I think it's still listed in the Buy n Sell here

Ha ha! Im sure id be very happy with it

Here is why one needs to be careful thses days. Click for full image:

So the one on the left is authentic and the one on the right a fake?! That's crazy! How does someone like me who can only recognize what might be a real Bowie autograph ever know for sure? Above $2000 and a reputable dealer I'm guessing is the only way eh?

Thanks for all your pictures and advice Eric

Hello James, yes, left is authentic, right is forgery. To "know for sure" - I assure you paying large sums of money, certificates, papers, stickers, none of that will guarantee you are getting an authentic signature. Learning the celebrities signing habits, styles and all takes long study. To me those 2 Bowie LP's I just posted are violently different. I would get many opinions before purchasing anything at this point. You can get opinions here to start.
