I was hoping to start a thread about the modern-day "Holy Grail" of autographs. Who is that, in your opinion? Who is the person (celeb/athlete/musician) who is the hardest autograph to score, someone totally elusive? (Perhaps they didn't use to be as difficult.) And then, spinning slightly off that theme, who are the people who are not only known as "hard to get" but those who you have also had oh-so-close calls with?
Any thoughts?
Being a russian guy, I can honestly say that Vladimir Putin is a good signed. BUT. The problem is - his security team is supertough. If you'll be in one venue with Putin and able to stand somewhere not far from him - he will sign indeed.
P.S.: I don't have Putin's sig, but I have Michael Gorbachev's sig on the book about Perestroyka - he signed it to me personally in 2008) He was supernice about it, but first checked - what I gave him to sign.
My 2 "Holy Grails" are Ritchie Blackmore and Robert Fripp.
Also got both of them, 2 Fripp's signs. Despite the stories about "grumpy misanthropes" - I had very nice contact with both of them, especially Fripp, who was a bit posh, but thanked me for coming to his show in Vienna.
Wow, when was that? Heard Fripp NEVER signs except of stuff for VIP packages.
1 - VIP meeting, the second - CD signed on tour in 1990s - sent me by DGM company. Fripp talked to me a bit and that was wonderful moment.
He attended the VIP tour? :O Or did you meet him somewhere else?
Yes, it was a part of Royal Package. He came out and talked to us and introduced the tour. No one expected to see him at all.
