Is he a good signer if caught after a show? I heard he can be pretty temperamental. I was hoping to catch him leaving a certain venue. This being his last tour I'm curious as to whether that'll make him more willing to sign or less so. And advice would be appreciated. I'm not a hound l, just a fan. Hoping he'd be open to signing just one thing and making it out to my mom.

Nothin?

You would be very lucky to get him at the hotel either before or after shows. Good luck.

Hes very moody but would occasionally sign at the hotel. Got him a bunch I assume as it's his last tour .lol. he has more security now and is hounded more

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try

Do the main people from his group usually stay at the same hotels as him?  I'm not after him, just one of the group.  Thanks.

They stay in separate places to Elton.

correct

Many thanks

I saw him in concert here in Australia a few years ago, he was flown by helicopter to the venue, landed in a closed off area, escorted to the stage, did his concert, returned to the helicopter under heavy guard and flew away. I saw one person right near the stage waving something at him to sign while he was performing but he ignored them. I was left with the impression that he would be a tough autograph to get, at least these days.

I believe in the past he would sometimes fly home in the US depending on where he was, so a quick exit. I do not know if that is still the case as that information is several years old, but comes from statements he made in interviews. I would be surprised if it changed, unless the location was too far or he had another reason to remain in town. That's not to say it wouldn't be possible to get to him before that, but I have no knowledge of such matters. It would not surprise me if he has more security. I do not think he would be responsive to people who come off as pros.

I know of a young Canadian artist who just went to one of his concerts in Canada.  She does amazingly realistic pencil, large sized drawings of mostly musicians.  A couple of years ago, McCartney pulled her on stage, signed her drawing and made a big deal out of showing it to the audience.  She waited at the performer entrance for Elton with her artwork and handmade (very nice) sign asking him to stop and sign her artwork.  There were only a few people around and his driver went right by and he never stopped.  She had front row seats for the show and had her sign and artwork ready. He made eye contact with her and seemed to acknowledge the artwork but never signed.  Even when taking final bows he was right in front of her but made no attempt at signing.  Obviously, a tough signer and a big disappointment for the artist !

Elton used to always sign for people in the front, regardless of what it was, random hats, tickets, etc. But last year I noticed at one show he did not go all the way across the front, which was very odd. He seemed to be in pain. I think he has some mobility issues now, which I do not want to get into, but it is not necessarily obvious to casual observers but is noticeable if you pay attention and are familiar with how he was before. I do not know if he has continued this on the farewell  tour, but given what I observed, it would not surprise me if it is too hard on him.
