HI Suzanne,
Your Lennon looks like it's printed unfortunately, but to give you a more reliable answer would you mind scanning it in higher resolution? 600 DPI would be great. Also, save it as a PNG or high quality JPG (near the maximum setting) so it's as clear as possible.
The photo you uploaded isn't low quality but the lower the quality of a JPG is the less accurate the photo is.
Thanks, Suzanne. Maybe it's signed on pebbly paper. I don't think the autograph is real, though. Let's see what others say.
Many thanks Steve
Steve, the seller just said, it was signed with a coal-lead-pin.
Susanne,
You meant pen, right? Not pin. The instrument could affect how it was signed, of course. First because the signature lays on the top level of the paper, and because of how it affects the flow.
For instance, the top of the H from 12:00 to 2:00 doesn't flow like I'd expect, and a few other things make it look different than what I'm used to seeing.
This was not an easy one to make a decision on, but due to the flow I thought I was right. The writing instrument may explain my concerns. I simply don't know.
Steve, oh sorry, of course 'pen' :-)
I will do the autograph send to a examine.
Have you a great adress to examine the autograph?
Suzanne, I honestly didn't know if it was pen or pin!
Why don't we get more opinions here before you send it. Others may be more familiar with it.
I did some quick googling and found that what the seller is referring to is a charcoal pencil (they're wood, not mechanical). That is why the autograph looks so black. And charcoal pencils are often sharpened with an X-Acto knife, which does not give you a round tip.
This makes it more likely to me that your Lennon is real, but you need more opinions than mine.
Steve,
that's the way I will do it. I hope I will get a lot of opinions here.
Thank you very much :-)
It looks odd enough that it's worth passing on.
No thank you...
I woud pass
