I have a few concerns about it.  It does seem to have quite a few positive traits.  It may even pass as authentic.  I still have a few concerns.

I agree.  What confuses me is that the baseline and slant both match known exemplars.  It almost appears as if someone traced a known exemplar and placed it in an oven.  Like I said, I have a few concerns about it.

Yes, agreed. Very slowly as well - all curves are hesitant, unlike the curves in the sketch which are very clean - but way off in another way. I don't see it coming from Hitchcock's hand.

I think that you described it best.  The autograph is “off” in a way that is difficult to describe.
