Hi everyone, I'm new here. To clarify my question this is an old photo of Celine and the signature is ink. It's not a reproduction of a photo already signed. There's obvious differences with the more current Celine signatures but seeing this is an older photo, I don't know if her signature varied this way before. For example, the n in Dion isn't typical. Any thoughts? Thank you!
This does not look authentic with some clear differences in all parts of the signature to genuine ones.
Thank you, Dan! I didn't think it was authentic either after I got it and compared it against many of her signatures. But it was just a few dollars from an estate collection so I took a chance. I hadn't discovered your group yet or I would have asked beforehand.
Always worth taking a chance - sometimes you get lucky and it's part of the fun of collecting
Yes, it's a lot of fun! I spent hours researching the Celine signature after I got it to see if I could find matching old signatures. That was very enjoyable. There's a sense of enjoyment in analyzing a signature too. Sort of like solving a puzzle.
