It's becoming so common place now that athletes do NOT want to sign the sweet spot of a baseball. Seems like the old timers are more apt to do it, but the younger players seem to have a disdain for doing so. A couple of years ago I saw this man at a convention who had this cool contraption...he would put the baseball in this device that would lock the ball in place so that when he handed it to the player only the sweet spot of the ball was showing. Has anyone seen one of these before? I've been looking for one ever since and can't find one. I'd love to purchase one if I could find it. Any help?

This is a link to the patent of the device, but I can't find the actual device anywhere!

That's not a bad idea, but remember that it's a choice the athlete is making specifically NOT to sign on the sweetspot. With the attitudes some of these younger players have these days, they would probably just hand the ball in the device back without signing at all!
