Hi all. New to this forum. I bought this set of elektra promo pics with signatures. They were mounted in a frame. I do have the full set of elektra press promo photos that were of more recent times. These 4 are definitely vintage compared to the fore mentioned. All that said, I have no idea if they are the real deal. I foolishly smeared the Robby signature in my efforts to confirm that they were indeed live signatures which they are. I know that The Beatles had an office where staff would sign items on behalf of the Fab Four so it might be that what I have were similarly signed on behalf of. I would appreciate your feedback 18CC33CB-E600-4080-90C5-E8DA72536158.jpeg

Thanks for the link. That’s a very interesting (and kind of sad) article with some things that were new to me.

I know. I think I mentioned to you before that the remaining doors on tour a year after where actually only 3 miles away from Pierre lachsie cemetery after his passing, and they never visited. Anyway, some goodies to look at...

Mark, the red initials, below, is that Paul Rothschild?

That’s a great collection. Unfortunately, I have no idea about the initials.

Hi BD67

hope you and yours are well. Thought I would share with you a response from Jim friend and photographer, Henry Diltz.  Basically, still no provenance!

thought you might like to know

cheers, best

Hello Stephen,
I've never heard anything about a coin like that. Don't know who
would know. Sounds interesting. Maybe a fan or girlfriend had it
made as a present for him.

Best to you,
Henry

Thanks for posting that. Oh well. That’s about what I would expect, but it was worth a try.

I've studied many, many Morrison signatures over the decades, as The Doors are my favorite band. And here's my two cents on this. It's NOT a secretarial because...a secretary would NOT get it this close. Not by a long shot. If it's after 1985, and a secretary is signing (for a hollywood star, band, whatever), they would try to get it close. In the old days (as 1969 would have been) a secretary WOULD NOT CARE about getting the signatures close because...how would the fan ever know?  I also would feel very confident in an Epperson cert. BUT...I would also add this. I WOULD NEVER buy this set. Just because I, myself, don't think the Morrison looks quite right. And it would always bug me, wondering if maybe someone got it wrong in authentication.

Let me add this. I WOULD BUY THEM, if it were from some 75 year old that worked for Elektra, and had boxes and boxes of signed stuff from all the bands around that time, and photos with the bands, etc. Then it wouldn't bother me as much that a signature doesn't match exactly, with other examples. As others have pointed out, we've all seen stuff WE OURSELVES have signed (whether that's a check, old yearbook, etc)...and it doesn't look like our normal signature.

Thanks for your input Josh.

As I mentioned previously, the pens for each signature appear different. The elektra promo pics are definitely vintage from back in the day as I have their more modern day equivalents (promo photos courtesy of elektra). I suppose I also take solace that there are others out there. Ballroom has seen 3 sets I believe and Roger Epperson has seen two. I too believe that it is a stretch that these are secretarial. My thanks
