I had similar reservations but I've come across several examples (not many) where the "J" extends out slightly past the stem of the "h" but does not overlap.  Such as this example from Heritage: https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/entertainment-and-music/john-lenno....

I thought the formation of the "n's" and the short, quick flick of an ending were very typical of Lennon.

To me it would be odd for a forger to produce such a rushed and rapid signature while at the same time adding in certain fine points that would have taken a lot of practice and study to master.  Instead of simply producing a more typical signature that would undergo less scrutiny.

Bottom line is that Timothy will have to find a reputable authenticator willing to attach their name to this example if he intends on selling it for anywhere close to market value.  With borderline examples like this one, some authenticators will be more conservative than others.

Good points and worthy of consideration. I’m familiar with the example you posted but the J does not extend into the h like the OP posting. The OP photo is kinda like Neil Aspinall’s John where the top of the J always extends into the h.

Thanks so much for extended answer, Eric. Of course I want to buy a thing with the confident that it's real one. And if it has a real chance to be an authentic, probably I should ask some reputable an expert. Maybe Roger Epperson could help with this one?..

Thank you.

It has some good traits and I wouldn’t rule it out, but overall it’s unusual to the extent that I wouldn’t feel entirely comfortable with it.

Thanks so much, Ballroom.

I'd lean more to "yes" then "no"....a rushed example...

Thank you too, Jim.

Real . Green example

Thank you, Paul.

IMO, this is a genuine John Lennon signature.

Thanks.
