The guitar could be ok. Looks sus tho

i don’t like either one. both look no good

Why have a cheap Epi signed? If real, wouldn't this be a major collectible worthy of a high-end SG?

If you're Phil Rudd, do you seriously sign things as "Phil Rudd, AC/DC"?

AC/DC gave this guitar to record executive Michael Klenfner as a gift so you would have to ask the band that question.

This guitar was once owned by Michael Klenfner.  Klenfner was the Atlantic Records executive that signed AC/DC and brought them to the USA.  This guitar was given to Klenfner by the band as a gift.  Klenfner passed away in 2009. His widow auctioned off his music memorabilia in 2013. That is when it came into my possession. You can see that several members of the band personalized it Klenfner.

this is a link to the auction from 2013. Scroll down and you can see this guitar.

was there documentation from the exec or widow? i woukd think something like this would have it or some type of letter to the exec since this is personalized to him or gifted to him ?? malcolms signature looks off to me and the drumhead is way to neat for my liking without even going into the specifics of what i look for on this

I did not receive any letter from Klenfner or his widow. I only received the auction tag. Klenfner died unexpectedly so I wouldn’t expect him to offer any documents. It was purchased from his memorabilia auction that was well publicized at the time.  I have owned it for 7 years now and I have now reason to doubt the authenticity.  The signatures look good to me.

We all doubt the authenticity until there is proof. Get a letter from the widow.

For now, it just looks like another packaged pseudo-collectible.

I imagine it would be easier to fake a letter from the widow than a guitar signed by 5 different people.  There are many AC/DC autographs out there to compare with but it would be difficult to authenticate his widow.   4 band members personalized the sigs, why add the personalization that reference both first and last name of the recipient on a fake?   When I originally acquired the guitar I was going to remove the personalization portion of the signatures. I was new to autograph collecting at the time and this was only my second autograph guitar. I almost did not buy it due to the personalization. Now almost 8 years later I appreciate the personalizations on the guitar.

you do realize some people put personalization to fool others. i agree it’s easy to fake a letter from the widow which trr we las you the proof should be from him or maybe a letter from the widow w marriage license and death certificate. a little crazy yes but that’s what it takes if you have an item of large ticket value. i have another question. why would you not get one of the major companies or roger epperson to cert it? just curious. get two of those and then you have a shot i guess. until then we don’t believe it but i wouldn’t buy it .

I have no plans on ever selling it and I do not doubt it’s authenticity. I imagine I would have to send the item in to get it authenticated and that just adds the potential to damage it during shipping.  Do they offer authenticity letters based on pictures of the item?
I do understand you could add personalization to a fake but I do not see it often and consider it an unusual practice.

You can get ACOA to comment from photographs. Roger will render a quick opinion from photographs as well. I see no downside to trying both.
