In my search for Kurt Cobain autographs, I have search all over the world to find it. Lately there have been a few Kurt Cobain signed CDs with cool inscription that are being offer from UK by 2 different sellers on the bay.

About more than a year ago, another seller from UK listed a signed NME magazine with Kurt Cobain’s autograph with very cool inscription on it. The autograph was simple and the written inscription was pretty close to Kurt Cobain’s writing. Seller has the wonderful provenance of him hanging out with Kurt Cobain backstage and how he got the magazine signed after Kurt Cobain had written on it. It did stir quite an interest from me to see such a wonderful piece of Kurt Cobain’s signed memorabilia. But something did not feel right about the inscription and autograph. It was way too neat. I decided to sit out of the bidding war for this signed magazine. It ended up selling for about $1500.00.
Here are some pictures of the signed NME magazine. This magazine and the Styrofoam cup was discussed on AML forum when it was listed on the bay for sale.

In the next 6 months the same seller listed another 3 Kurt Cobain’s signed magazines with very cool inscription and doodles. He also listed a signed Styrofoam cup signed by Kurt Cobain with inscription. These have raised the red flag for me on this particular seller.

From my years of searching for Nirvana and Kurt Cobain’s autographs. I almost seldom see Kurt Cobain signed exactly the same each time. Some of his official documents signatures were close but still not exactly the same. These magazines were signed exactly the same with the same cool neat inscriptions. All signed and written by the same person except that it was not Kurt Cobain.

That brings me back to the 2 signed CD that is being listed for sale presently on the bay.
See the similarity. I am sure these came from the same source as these signed magazines. Same neat Cobain’s autographs with the same cool neat inscriptions. Both sellers probably paid quite a bit for these 2 CDs and are trying to flip it for a profit.
