Skipping ropes once owned by Bruce Lee. These were made in accordance with Bruce's requirements to have swivel handles. Purchased about five years ago from a collector who purchased them direct from TK son.

Certified by Taky Kimura.

A lot of similar pieces have been sold but with fake certificates. Genuine ones should have the read mark and a picture of the piece certified.

Yes, I am sorry this is the case.

Hello Mark,

Sorry to deliver the bad news.  All of us have been burned at some point in this hobby, and it’s never fun to get this kind of feedback.  These Taky Kimura COAs took everyone by surprise when they started to appear in 2009-2015.

I’m not surprised that Juliens is interested.  They have a bad reputation with Bruce Lee collectors of selling mostly fraudulent material, and most of the big time Bruce Lee collectors I know wouldn’t touch anything sold by them.

All of the fraudulent examples i provided earlier come from their website, so I’m sure they will be more than willing to sell the jump rope on your behalf.  The real question is how you’ll feel about reselling an item that is not genuine?  I guess that is for you to decide and live with from an ethical standpoint, and how much your reputation means to you in this hobby.

Hi Peter,

As I stated before I will not entertain selling via juliens auction. I feel very comfortable with that scenario if they are indeed fake.

I may ask Fraser auctions or nate sanders what they think of them. Is that appropriate do you think and do they know their stuff? They appear to have sold numerous BL items.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

If you’re referring to Paul Fraser Collectibles, then yes I believe they are legit.  They have previously sold a few really terrific BL items that were PSA-DNA approved, including a signed martial arts book that is the best I’ve ever seen.  They also have good information about previous Bruce Lee auctions, trends, etc. that can be helpful.

Hope that helps.  Regards- P

You have an uphill battled IMHO.
Best wishes,
Eric

I have a client wishing to purchase a large jade plaque from the late Qing period.

He claims to have a old envelope bearing BL signature that was obtained by his father back in 1972.

I shall post said for forum opinions when I receive it. I told him I want to handle it in person not view a photo of it. He is asking a lot of money for it. He wants to part with it in part payment for the jade plaque.

Regards,

Mark
