Hi everyone. If I'm not in the right forum I apologize, but I'm looking for any feedback on how I can get this Babe Ruth ball appraised. JSA has already authenticated it (ref: XX09061) and graded the autograph a 5. The ball however, I've never seen such pristine stampings on a 90-year old ball. To me the condition is above average from what's typically out there.
I just added this to my collection (completed the 500HR club to give to my son one day) and I picked it up with an amazing story attached. The gentleman I purchased this from told me the story of how he got it and from who - and some basic Google searching pretty much verified everything. I won't go into lengthy details, but I'm almost 100% certain I also know when the ball was signed because I have the accompanying game ticket - May 29, 1929, Yankees @ Senators. I'm saying all of this because I think it's unique and rare to know when and where the ball was actually signed. It completes the story.
In short, any guidance you fellow readers have I will gladly take as I need to have a good value for insurance. I'm also considering getting it fully graded from PSA but don't know if it's worth doing that or will add any value. If you owned it, what kind of value would you put on it?
Thank you!

Hi Pubcubbie,
You posted in the right place. If you're using an insurance company that specializes in collectibles in a wide price range you may not need to have it appraised. Just take excellent photos, keep your documentation, and copies in the cloud. Collectibles Insurance Company, AKA Collectinsure.com, is an insurer that may be the biggest in the field, is affordable, and has a loyal clientele.
