Hello there,

I bought this at an auction sale in Paris (I'm French), but I'm pretty in doubt with the authenticity... And I'm wondering about the history it could have... who wrote on the disc, who signed Marilyn... if it's her or not...

I am a huge fan of Marilyn since I'm 16 and was my dream to have an autograph but I'm scared...

Sent this message to the auction house... :

- the autograph strongly resembles those produced by Marilyn Monroe's secretariat;
- the record cover is from "Wilcox-Gay" and the vinyl record from "Hollywood Records": it is therefore not a set;
- the autograph is located on a cut-out paper part, the two holes of which have also been cut out (for what purpose?!) and which is not attached to anything. Worse: the title “seven year itch” does not correspond to the film which is supposedly on the vinyl which is “gentlemen prefer blondes”.

Could you help me please ?

The website has no Terms? Obviously, at this point, avoid. Have you any paperwork from the sale? Drout is a group of different auctions from different sources/dealers.

I have no paperwork but the law "only". Have to prove that it's a false, but the seller and the auction house are also responsable of the fault, furthermore they wrote it's a true one without any doubt about it. The problem in France is that justice is very expensive and take sometimes 10 years or more ! So I hope to find a solution with the seller to have back my money...

I hope I'm clear, I don't speak English like a native ;)

No paperwork at all? Nothing? A receipt to show where you bought it and when? I would want to know the Terms. You can ask for them. I was hoping to find a loophole -  if possible.

Your English is fine by the way :)

I have a receipt yes, the number of the lot and description, the proof that I paid...And I did some screenshots about the sale and their comments "2 signs, exceptional piece".

Oh yes, very exceptional ...Stupid me !

Put it in my garage right now...Can't watch it..

NOT stupid, new is all. There must be a guarantee or terms somewhere I would think. That Drout site seems a bunch of dealers - do you know who you bought from and what thier polocies are?

Thanks to you, I made a research and found this : Sale

The "MM" piece is on page 111

The auction you linked does not have a page 111 and lot 111 is not it either. The terms are not helpful to you - to them certainly. Not a single wotd about authenticity or recourse :(

Sorry, it's page 56...

I'm very grateful for your help anyway. I rode some terms on Drouot, nothing especial, they just say I can cancel the sale if it's a forgery... As the French law says !

I rode some bad comments on google about the auction sale Coutau-Bégarie, Russian people who bought a fake art piece, but they don't say if they finally had their money back...

Think I'll never buy a "MM" autograph anymore :(

You were very clear, Elodie. What proof do they have that it's genuine?

What proof do you have that you bought it from them? There must be some paperwork?

None.... They just wrote it... And a story about the piece : the producer of the film Gentlemen prefer Blondes would have offered it to a technician during the assembly in the presence of MM… Anything in fact! Nothing is coherent in there since the cover is different from the disc and that the signature is on a cut and glued paper... it's pathetic... But I bought it on photo and we couldn't see everything that...

I've also asked A Pug Called Eva to take a loook.
