Hi guys.

I have a favor to ask. I am considering buying this book privately. I was wondering if I can get an opinion on this signed book U2 by U2. Is there any experts who can render an opinion on it. It seems okay to me  from looking at other examples but I realize that this is also a band that we would see forged.

Roger if you see this can you please give me your thoughts.

Thanks for your help.

Here's one of the "Beautiful Ebay" versions.  There were a few of these on ebay after the signings.  Apparently, Larry started identifying the people who weren't fans but rather dealers (generally the people who didn't want an inscription) and would put an "X" next to his sig.  When the book would reach Bono's hands, he's write Beautiful Ebay or some similar sarcastic ebay-releated note.

Here's a nice FAKE one.  Terrible.

What's odd about this is that this is the same guy who sold an authentic one a few weeks back.

Wow thats really bad :(
I'm sending him a message.  I think he's a decent seller of rare records, just limited in his autograph expertise.  His one from a few weeks back was spot on - fans knew it and bid away.
He may have offered a real one in the past, but when you are dealing with someone who is not an autograph dealer or expert and they are just moving product, they don't know if something is real or not. I see it on ebay all of the time.

Well, the seller really doesn't know his stuff and refuses to actually LOOK at the thing.  I kindly informed him that this one he's offering now isn't even close.  His response was:

"Absolutely 100% original, this come from the same person. I purchased 2 copies of him from 2 different book signings. I have had 5 signed copies in the past and bono's signiture has been slightly different in all of them. I can 1005 gurantee these are original signitures."

He might be surprised when this book goes for nowhere near what the last one did.

Here is the real deal. Adam's autograph is not the best, but at least it's genuine. He refused to change pen. And since this was the first time I met the band, I was just happy that he signed. (Later I have got some other and better autographs from the band.)

Hey, I dig the Adam gold sig!  Works really well on on the JT.

I'm glad you like it. I prefer to have it signed in black marker. But I should not be to picky. I have a real funny story about Bono from that meeting in 1992. When he came out from the hotel around 2.30PM we were about 5 People waiting for him. He had his black spiderman glasses on and looked into the bright sun. When we approached him and asked him to sign, he fell down on his knees in front of us and said: "I'm not worth it!" Then he stand up and signed for us. This was just like a scen from Wayne's World, but opposite.

I will never froget that moment.

LOL.  And a great story to go along with it!  I've only met Bono once on the Vertigo Tour, and he stayed in his SUV the whole time.  Have you posted these on Eastlink?
This is my personal favorite. One of the worlds best songs signed by the whole band in 1992.

Very cool.  Is that a CD or vinyl cover?
