So every year Bill has his Murray Bro Charity golf tournament every year . I always wanted to go and saved my money up one year 2017 to go and happens to be the one year he didn’t show so I was pretty bummed . Busy still had wonderful time though I was there for Bill Murray as I’m huge fan . Each year they do donations through Prizeo app and I would always see Ghostbusters signed poster by Bill if you paid certain amount . Early on they were $250 then went up to $500 years later. So I purchased one and money went to great cause however when I received the poster the autograph ink looked odd to me . It could be because it’s done by those nice gel silver markers but you don’t see the typical inconsistencies of marker moving quickly on the signature . It seemed almost perfect . This def came from Murray Bro Caddyshack restaurant which I love !! Been there twice so far. However I saw a photo on their Facebook page that made me more concerned . Another poster that was won by someone at restaurant and the autograph is nearly 99% identical! The angle , way things lineup is scary close to mine to not be concerned I paid lot of money for auto pen autograph. Now I don’t want to bad mouth the restaurant or Murray Bro Charity event whatsoever. I fully support it and it’s for great cause . I hope I can make it down next year so bad as I still had great time . I know my money was donation and to good cause but I’m very concerned after seeing this photo on Facebook look nearly identical and already had suspicions about it from get go . Anyone familiar with auto pens tips or feedback would be great ! Here are the pics of mine and one on Facebook . I can only find one settle difference is the Y on my poster ends just above the H letter below it and the Facebook photo his Y goes just past it by very small bit . But everything else looks identical . I know autopens also look for dots ending and starting as well as shaky likes . It’s pretty smooth throughout though the Y looks little unnatural.

Let me be clear in no way am I accusing Murray Bro Restaurant or the charity event giving out fake auto pen autographs however i am not concerned I donated lot of money that went to good cause but for possibility of autograph that was done by auto pen after seeing another photo of same poster where the autograph lines up way too close for concern and has me wondering . So any feedback would be great.

First photo is split to compare . Mines on left side and other Facebook photo from restaurant is on right. Second photo is better shot of my poster and third is the one from Murray Bro restaurant Facebook photo giveaway I saw .

I would love to see this in person.. for autopens, you can usually tell by the autograph always ending in a dot, yes that is one way.. but also a uniform thickness throughout.. also, less common recently, a shakiness that is not associated with an autographs natural flow.

The M in Murray doesn't end in a dot and the Y does have varying thicknesses. Both autographs do seem to be a perfect match.. definatly a bad sign.. does the ink trail show clear overlapping? Is a stamp ruled out?

Yes I’m pretty sure stamp is ruled out . I’m no expert just do as much research as I can to educate myself . So could be wrong but don’t think so .

side note though, thats awesome info.. i mistakenly sold my ghostbusters cast signed photo on ebay before Ramis died.. its ended up with a member on here, pictured in a thread but I can't get a hold of the member.. anyways, ive been trying to track down Murray ever since with no luck but finally was able to score MVP tickets to his Chicago Symphony Orchestra event.. its well documented how he was a total A..hole that night. I eas there for a half hour after he left. I scored his autograph on a cd (the only thing he would sign) but when I pulled out my photo, he went crazy and called me a professional.. a while later, there was a caddyshack restaurant that was supposed to open in rosemont.. it never happened but I was hoping it would be my next opportunity

My ex GF worked at a golf course in the suburbs and saw him a lot in the early 00s this was before I met her.. she had a bunch of hos autographs.. wouldnt let me have one.. maybe thats what lead to our relationship not working out lol

Lol how was the symphony ? That’s great you scored autograph though ! All I want is change to meet him in person . I have full GB sleeve with big Bill portrait tattoo. Everything I own has something to do with Bill so that’s my worst nightmare is meeting him and him being dick for some reason lol. I hope I get chance to meet him one day . Was hoping to at the charity event and tried to go this year but sold out so quick . Maybe next year

Thats really cool!! I know its an autograph thread but id love to see that Tattoo.

I was definitely let down. He came into the MVP room and started to mingle in the crowd. Free pizza and beer for everyone.. i was 1st in line for a photo. About 75 people waiting in line behind me while he mingled.. finally he stopped mingling and got to the photos. I could see in his face he didn't want to do it. We took a picture together and he was busy talking to other people while dealing with me.. i didn't feel like he acknowledged I was even there, and im a big 6'6" guy. The way I was rushed out, I couldn't pull out my photo, so I stood around talking to the ushers and noticed he was signing cds for people. The usher helped me get his attention and told him he forgot to sign mine.. i finally get a slight acknowledgement but when I pulled out my photo, he just snapped and said see.. he's a professional.. but he still grabbed my cd and signed it.. i admit I was definitely not in control of that situation lol..

Anyways, I decided to hang out the rest of the night thinking there might be another chance to get my photo signed. He started taking breaks from photos and went back to mingling. Constantly turning down others who tried to get GB stuff signed. He finally came back to get the photos done and he clearly didn't want to be there anymore. He started huddling strangers together to take group photos with him. It was such an odd situation because 10 people in a photo and no one knows each other. He took another break to mingle and from what I saw, a guy I briefly talked to earlier tried to get a GB item signed.. he snapped and walked out the door never to come back. He just abandoned his own event. Everyone who was left was given a number to call for a refund. There is an article about it floating around online but the guy interviewed stated he was pissed at people trying to take candid photos of him.. i did not see that at all.

Which charity event is this exactly? I know years ago there was one I was thinking about trying in FL but Its a lot of money on a trip with only a slight chance of even seeing him

It’s Murray Bro Golf charity event in. st Augustine FL. Even though it was only year he didn’t make it in 16 years or so because his son was coaching basketball tournament it was awesome . Just right amount of people were doesn’t feel too crowded some drinks and food was inclusive and I got the cheap package party only event for the two nights . Second night is out at tent live music and that’s when Bill comes out . You can pay extra to play golf with everyone during day even if you don’t know how to they just get drunk and don’t take it seriously lol. I was bummed he wasn’t there but Aaron Lewis showed up which I’m fan and played some of his solo country stuff and staind stuff so that was cool. During the night in the restaurant they have display of auctions memorabilia I did score nice Caddyshack painting numbered and def signed by him . It’s blast and would been amazing if he was there you will def see him on stage. Price isn’t bad for party only event $250 person for the two nights . There are other packages more expensive But party only even is all you need unless you want to play golf . Here is my GB sleeve and the other autographed piece I won at auction while I was down there . Autograph is little hard to see on bottom left silver marker on canvas .
By way have to click on photo to see whole picture of sleeve .

This is top part

Wow those are really great tattoos. You found a good artist. My sisters ex husband used to work for a shop in Chicago.. ive seen a lot of butcherd tats. Some by him, some by others. I was stupid enough in my teen years to get one because it was free.. grim reaper that turned out looking more like anjelica huston. I eventually covered it up with something else. Your Cadyshack item is awesome too

St Augustine to Daytona is such a nice area. Im going to have to look this up and make a trip out of it. I can see how it would be a lot of fun though you didn't get to see Murray

Lol I def have my one mistake first tattoo butchered then learned my lesson lol. If you get chance and in at Augustine visit the restaurant at least which is where it’s held . At least get to check place out and have great food !

The more time that has passed and the more I look back on it.. i actually had fun, got a picture and an autograph.. i was more hurt by how I was treated overall at the time. He definitely did not have to sign my cd but he still did. Im probably more upset with myself for not being able to handle the situation better. I used to have bad anxiety and just going to the event alone was a big step for me. Then again, I did the same when I met Ramis years earlier.. he was at Columbia College debating the movie Happiness.. right down the street from Chicago Symphony Orchestra..

Anyways, before the MVP event, the concert itself was awesome! Bill sings a little rough but while still sounding good.. i really shouldn't say I was disappointed overall.. its just what I took away from his character and how the night ended.. it was just a bad night for him I guess
