Help Identifyindg signature on Bart Giamatti Era (1986-1989) NL Baseball

Hi All, I'm looking for help identifying the signature on this baseball.  It's a Bart Giamatti era (1986-1989) signed NL baseball.  Funny thing is a while back I'd figured it out myself and think I stumbled across it while looking at various possibilities and just stumbled across this signature while looking up another possibility.  Anyhow I thought I'd written it down but obviously not.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Andre Dawson..

I grew up not far from Wrigley field. Started collecting autographs by standing in the street near my house where cubs players took a shortcut but had to stop for a long stop sign. It was an easy way to get cubs players stuck in traffic. Dawson never took this shortcut but I did see Sandberg, Grace, Ron Santo, Rick Sutcliffe and others many many times.. Paul Assenmacher refused to sign for us or even roll down his window. Maybe he had a bad game?.. i was 11 years old and pissed. Kicked his tire lol.. he was stuck at that stop sign for about 10 minutes taking abuse from us kids.. poor guy.. once he finally crossed the street, he stopped, rolled down his window and gave us all the finger before speeding away. It was Hilarious.. especially since I was able to get him a few days later at the same spot. No hard feelings.

Anyways, I grew up on Cubs Autographs so I know a lot from that era. Dawson is easy to spot though since he's in the HOF and pretty sought after even today

Hi Jason, Your autograph story make me jealous.  I grew up in Rhode Island in the 50s and have been a Red Sox fan all my life.  Used to listen to every game on the radio. If I'd have been within walking distance of Fenway I'd have never gotten out of elementary school.  As for the autograph, I should have known.  Makes all the sense in the world now and I'll document it before I forget again.  I live in Miami now and  used to play slowpitch softball back in the 80s and Andre sponsored team we'd see occasionally the  "The Hawks".  I ran into his dad a couple times at local flea markets (where most of my sports collectibles have come from) and met Andre once at a slowpitch tournament.  Thanks for the help and the story.

Regards,

Bill.

I'm late to the ballgame (no pun intended) but I also immediately recognized it.

I got Andre Dawson on a ball years ago, and on a few baseball cards.  He was (is?) great through the mail.

He has a very distinctive signature. One of my favorites.

Although he played for a few teams and his Boston stint was one of his shortest, I always think of him as a Red Sox player.
