Would appreciate your help on this Ringo Starr autograph and the inscription. It is signed on the back of a menu card in London 1968 when his wife was on her way to use the bathroom…

Thank you for helping!

I would guess if he were subtle he would not have written it out and gave it away, or he would have whispered it. If she was on her way already, why would you write out a message and not just quickly whisper in her ear? I'm imagining Ringo running after Maureen with a note "Wait babe!"

I guess we’ll never know. And that’s why it’s more important for me to try to find another note to compare with, ideally written in capital letters.

Either way, I asked the seller about why a written message but she didn’t know:

I have also wondered about that myself. Unfortunately, my father is long dead, so I can't ask him. Now it was 1968, so maybe you didn't say such a thing out loud in London then, but as I said - I don't know.”

Thank you for helping Eric! You are completly correct in asking critical questions, in this hobby you unfortunally need too!

Thank you very much my friend. Questions like these can sometimes backfire and end in a very different way! Good luck in your search and keep us posted :-)

the Ringo signature is good

I agree. I just don't think he wrote the inscription.

I agree with that also!

Thank you Eric and Terrier!

I’m convince you’re correct, thank you so much for helping. If buying this one I’ll consider it for what it is, a rushed signature that still can be used for a display since the inscription is on the other side of the meny and easily can be matted away.

Do you think the inscription devalues it much?
