Feb. 4: We're expanding and reorganizing our discussion forums. Excuse our dust.
I just purchased 2 autographed guitars, a black and white version of Buddy Guy's signed squire guitars over the last month. I have a question for other collectors of autographed guitars. I want to display these permanently in a room without windows but am still concerned about long term effects from dusting. I want to seal the guitar in lacquer but am worried about the ink bleeding during the process. does anyone have any experience sealing autographs on guitars? also, for potential future collectors, would the overall value decrease in your eyes on account of the autograph being "sealed" in this way? Say I give one to my daughter. No expectations, if she decided to sell it in the future, so be it.. would it be better to seal it now, or leave it as is and let her decide later?
Im curious about the procedure from this video
