Hey guys!
First of all thank you for accepting my request. This is my first post so I can only apologise if I’ve done anything wrong, but I was just hoping if anyone could give me their thoughts and opinions on this Messi autograph! I purchased it on eBay but didn’t have time to get any opinions before hand because it was ending too soon. I have the item in hand and the Funko is definitely not authentic but the pen work looks pretty legitimate, any help would be great!
Thank you so much,
Michael.

Can you provide a link to the auction?
If the Funko is fake the autograph, if that is authentic, would suffer greatly in terms of value IMO.
Hey! Thank you for getting back to me, to be fair the seller did say it wasn’t a genuine Funko and I could tell a mile off that it wasn’t I just wanted the potential Messi autograph! The feedback was 100% for the seller otherwise I definitely wouldn’t have gone for it and they did say it was obtained at the PSG training ground last year I was just hoping I’d snagged a real one! :’) here’s the listing:

Hello,
No problem. Hmm. The closest thing I can think of would be a genuine signature on a forged vinyl LP or knockoff baseball or other licensed product. They say "custom", but counterfeit is a better term. But I think this autograph is a poor forgery. From what I have just seen, many people buying these things (unsigned Funko's) simply do not care, which is very disappointing and also telling. The main reasons cited are they are for their kids who won't know or care, or they are pennies on the dollar for the harder to secure figures.
So, I think it is a forged signature on a forged Funko. I see no upside.
I found it. "Private Seller" is often not a good sign.
"Thereby, consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not apply. eBay buyer protection still applies to most purchases."
I would file a SNAD. Did you use a Credit Card?
If the Funko is indeed a forgery and the autograph somehow is not, I expect it would be worth considerably less than a signed photo, if you could find a buyer.
I have looked at the seller's past feedback. A genuine Liam Gallagher sig for ecxample should sell for hundreds of pounds , not for £40. The same has occured for other high value sigs I would get my money back if I were you
I know, I saw that and his brother. One of them was £30 IIRC. I did not get into it considering this discussion is about a forgery on a forged Funko bought as a forged Funko. It's the illusion of a "bargain". Private seller/feedback...
Looks like everything he's sold is fake get your money back
The signatures are "custom" as well.
Thanks guys! I knew it was too good to be true, I never normally go for it when it’s like that but I love Messi so much I was hoping it was real, I have started the returns process!
Most welcome. I am happy to hear you have started the return! :-)
