Hi all - we're working with a 1935 signed copy of John Steinbeck's "Tortilla Flat" which bears a blue fountain pen signature.

Steinbeck's signature is a tough one, wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the validity of this example?

The book was accompanied by a 2023 COA from Stephen Rocchi so that didn't give me much encouragement.

I appreciate any comments!

Best wishes.

This looks slowly rendered on a cheapie Grosset & Dunlap edition.

Possible template? :

The presentation of the G & D seems off, imho.

Thank you for posting.

I don't like it.

I don't know anything about the authenticator you mention but this does not look "authentic" and I cannot be any more coherent about it than that.
