Hi I purchased this a LONG time ago when I was starting out as a Marilyn collector. I was told by two sources at the time that the autograph on the one side is authentic. The back side has a poem. I was told it was uncertain whether she wrote this and bought with the assumption that just the front autograph was authentic. I am looking for opinions here about whether the autograph is first off authentic or not and if so did she maybe also write the poem? The page is definitely aged, album page with what looks like fountain ink? Thanks for all your help! I have loved Marilyn since I was little so if this proves not to be authentic I must find one that is! Haha.
Hi
This is interesting. Written with an unusual slant style pen which I have never seen used by Monroe before, calligraphy style.
The signature looks good. I am just so thrown by the pen.
I have never seen such tidy writing and well spaced, and yet it is has many aspects of her printing. Let me get back to you on that.
It also seems to be a poem unknown to Google so possibly a Monroe original, she wrote many poems not unlike this one.
Much to ponder.
She did more printing in her teens and early 20s, but I have tracked down several complete words also in this poem and they are the same.
A lot of time spent making this look nice.
This could be something very special. Interested in other opinions.
I am aware of a "too good to be true" feeling. It's very unusual, her best printing post 1952, (from the signature) a very personal dedication. And a poem that seems to be in her style, but is new to me!
Thank you! I have always tried to hold on to the fact the poem may not have been written by her but as you stated I have also found many similarities in the writing (but am definitely not an expert) It always fascinated me too I could never find this poem anywhere. It’s definitely someone’s original and sounds a lot like Marilyn’s writings. The paper is definitely vintage from feel and the pen ink looks vintage in person also. I could post better pics if needed. Hard to get without the cell phones in the way ha ha.
I "get rusty" on Marilyn and I have to reacquaint my eye, so I head for my blog, which I did for my own reference, but also to help anybody who needs to get an idea of her real signature.

Also get a quick opinion from Beckett?
Also any idea on the individuals name? Lonnie? Jonnie? Tommie? Tammie? I have tried several times to match her with one of these names to see if it was for someone very special to her.
Lonnie.
Not authentic imo
Which part? The signature, the poem or both?
My opinion is both are not original / authentic but do consider others
Fun story from 1955, Marilyn Monroe appearance for sailors of the USS Bennington. Who had just suffered a loss of over 100 sailors. The email is to a Lonnie.
I don't know if it's relevant, but it's the right era...
That link leads to a security warning.
Perhaps a screencap?
Hey Pauline both links aren’t working but I found that Lonnie and sent him an email!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
