Saw this come to auction a couple of weeks ago, now listed on eBay with an Epperson cert.
I remember having a facsimile of this postcard that came with a book, so recognised them, especially the small Lennon.
It looks absurdly overcooked. Unreal.
Did Epperson really aprove this?
I am sorry - this is embarassing - this style from the Obertauern postcard is known for decades especially when it appeard as a facsimile on a box of memorabilia prints.
I think I have the scan of the original card for 20 years.
I am tired of seeing his COA or aproval on Ebay auctions or auction sites - this is a red flag from the start.
Exactly. Either Epperson hasn’t seen it at all, or has given a quick opinion on sight - but it says he’s seen it in person..? Weird.
I think he makes QO by email but wants to see the original if he writes a proper COA.
So I guess it was analyzed by email - nevertheless - if he claims to be one of the best in business and charges cash for his opinion he needs to know his craft and this one is embarassing not to see this.
It has been ended. I hope it did not sell.
I spoke to the seller and showed them the postcard.
.. and they paid for the quick opinion.... and likely for the fake too.
Well done. I do this with "Gleason's" when I can.
