With his signature changing over time, and this is on a 1970 era guitar. Is it questionable, possible, or 100% imitation?

Not sure what I am looking at here. I don't see it. Wait for others.

The photo doesn't show?

I see it,  I just don't know what to make of it. "I don't see it" meant that I don't understand what I am looking at. See what others say,

This is not an authentic Johnny Cash signature unfortunately.

That looks nothing like Johnny Cash's autograph. Here's an example of a real one, and a link to a group of real ones.

+1 That is what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone and especially to that link with authentic. If I skip the variety of J over time and just looked at the "o" right after that, the guitar is a fail. I didn't go further, but the o seems more consistent over all of the years, the authentic ones, which the J changes from one to another to the triangle version to looping and smooth.

I'm just saying that going by the J would be a problem and simply looking for something more reliable, the o does that. There's good separation as well, between the J and o, not a script continuation, even if there is overlapping it's two distinct actions, with a lift in between.

I think the guitar is script, signature.

Thanks for all the great help and the link.

"I think the guitar is script, signature."

By...Johnny Cash? I might well be missing something here. I just looked at his script signature on checks of this period and, dare I say it again, I don't see it.
