Thanks to Steve Cyrkin for identifying one of Michael Jackson's fake autographs, I am in the process of getting refund for that.  600 plus dollars ..That also led me to take my other purchases from ebay to PSA/DNA , they came to Bay Area today.. Another 2 items failed to pass the autograph's authenticity. As I am new collector , I can not believe people do such things, I will never resell something knowing its fake. And before selling I will confirm they are certified by well known company such as PSA/DNA

Some one needs to get on the ebay's case. They should have a way of stopping this. Some kind of process so this does not happen to anyone.  I really hope ebay does something about it before more people are spammed.. My whole day was a down day for me.

I have attached both failed items in this post. As I said I am going to return these to the seller and at no cost I will do such a thing to anyone by reselling them so why not show it to the people in case the seller who sold me , after I return them , they might re-list them or try to sell them some where else.

I've seen an Ali exactly like this with exact COA in a pawn shop in Scottsdale. Must be many more than a few them floating around. Sucks for sure.

Is PSA/DNA are the best to get certifications? or is there anyone else ?

thanks

JSA as well

Rizwan,

For the best advice, please tell us what you want to have authenticated. PSA/DNA and JSA are the best of the independent authentication companies that authenticate all kinds of autographs. But there may be other good authenticators you'll want to consider.

Upload examples of what you want to have authenticated if you'd like.

Steve

Thanks Steve , I will do that. You have 2nd opinion on these 2 items?

I don't know Amy at all, and on Ali I'm good at recognizing certain forgery styles but other than those I try not to give an opinion. I've heard good things about the collector Anthony recommends at aliautos.net, too. I'd pay the $15 if you want a second opinion.

Great thanks a lot .

I dont think the Amy is authentic though .

I wouldnt send the Ali back . I would wait and get more opinions. Ali did signings with stack of plaques in the 90's. This may be authentic but I dont know for sure. I am not a expert, just trying to help you out . Psa and jsa turned down 12 ali's I got myself in th early 2000's . He sat and signed 12 photos , each autograph diffrent than the other. Ive also had an Ali turned down I got signed personally at a movie premiere by psa. Jsa passed it . Everyone will recommend online or authentics , stenier or psa to buy your authentic ali's . At $800 to $2000 a pop . But well before these companies were around, Ali was signing autographs like a madmen . Here are some authentic Ali's from the 90's . Email shawn at http://www.aliautos.net/ . His email is Shawn@AliAutos.com  . He charges like $15. But this guy knows Ali and has helped me in the past and has always been right .

Hey Rizwan...Its an unfortunate that this has happened to you...I don't think there is any collector that never got burned at least once before on a fake or 2 or dozens...I have been the victim as well as many others on here...its a lesson learned unfortunately if you cant get a refund...I have been burned in over 4 figures in fakes in the past... unfortunately I will never be able to recuperate in my losses...but because I was burned it made me study and grow stronger as a collector...education is key in this business and just because its certified doesn't mean its real either...all authenticators make mistakes...even the best ones...it comes down to learning and training your eye it self...it takes years...also you need sellers you can trust as well...and as much as Steiner is expensive you never have to question it...

Thanks so much.

If its a in person signing . Steiner is great. But has a number of fake cert's of people on ebay , like Ali. Someone copied there cert. Also I bought a Yankees Legends Piece from Steiner signed by Mantle,Martin,Berra, and Ford. The Billy Martin ended up being secreterial . Once they start buying people who are deceased and putting there cert on it . There is no 100% way to tell the item is fake or not . They are only making an educated assumption it is real . Most likely because of reputation and where they are getting it from .

Im not trying to bash Psa or Steiner. Im just trying to throw caution out there to people. I just dont like seeing people say things like , you never have to question it .

When buying autographs , ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS question it . No matter what company , who it is and what there rep is .
