questionable George Reeves signature on ebay - source: Americabilia.com
I have never heard of Americabilia.com, but as a specialist in George Reeves signatures, I see some things wrong with this alleged signature. According to the paper work shown, it was purchased from this outfit in 2001. No owner or employee signed or dared to put their name on this "certificate" for the big laughable 30 day guarantee they offered. A 30 day guarantee ??? In my view, that should have been a big red flag for the buyer.
Just curious, has anyone ever heard of this outfit?

I don't know the company, but I agree with you about the signed photo. It doesn't look right to me. Including that most of not all I've seen have had it as George "Superman" Reeves, not George Reeves "Superman".

He did sign both ways and I actually have more examples with Superman afterwards. I would guess he preferred having his name separate most of the time from "Superman". It appears to me to be an attempt at copying a signature that they saw somewhere, but they missed many characteristics and added a few non-characteristics of their own.

No problem. Do you have a private email to upload them to? I am not sure putting them on public display is a good idea as Reeves is forged a lot. What do you think?

Thank you. I understand your concern, and would leave that up to you, but I was thinking how valuable it would be to share your Reeves autographs with the community. Auction houses and dealers put there autographs online that forgers can use, too.
These are your autographs, so whatever you want to do is A-OK with me, but I think that the more genuine autographs there are for collectors to compare with, the less likely they are to end up with a forgery.

Just a single look at the home page of this dealer doesn't make an impression. Who are they? Where is "about us" blog ? Are they a member, recommended or registered dealer any of well known and respectable organization ?
I keep wondering, why people even concider to do any business with such kind of dealers?

James Spence recently "authenticated" this bad imitation of a George Reeves autograph which just appeared on ebay. See Item number: 230805357499 . And only 9.99 !! What a bargain!! Usually a Reeves autograph will fetch $4-500 on a scrap of paper.
Apparently George was in a "super" hurry when he made that chicken scratch scribble for his first name, then suddenly realized he had plenty of time after all & wrote his last name nice & neat.
George did have a particular style for a quickie signature, but it was nothing like this travesty. As usual, it is buyer beware and buyer educate yourself before making a purchase. Your best defense is knowledge.
