i don't think it's real, if some how it is it is really one of the messiest he's signed...

i have seen a number of sigs from around march 09 and haven't seen any with michael switching pens between first or last name. or with the "ackson" being up like that to me it seemed like he  had a good sense on signing items, i know there are exeptions and you have more likely seen/obtained more michael jacksons in his final months then I but i have 10 examples from march and havent seen any like this.

this is one of those signatures that if I had to vote, I would say its real.  It is doubtful that a forger would come up with something like this, but not out of the realm of possibility.

and the Michael looks right on.

Wow...what a great autograph to discuss. "Love" couldn't be much further from the norm, and the first look at Michael Jackson's signature says no way he signed it. But after studying it for a few minutes? Yeah...I think it's probably real. 

That said, I wouldn't pay over $100 for it—or $200 with JSA, PSA or REAL authentication—unless I was collecting variations of Michael Jackson's autograph. It's way too atypical and it's more likely not to pass the test of time.

What's the story?

I have to dissagree with you Mike on your observation.  That floating on top is an attempt at the "ackson" that is not him writing "Michael".  The dead giveaway is he doesn't make his "L" in Michael like that, this is how he makes his "N" in Jackson.  This is so atypcial in every way there is no way you could call this authentic.  Someone said a forger would attempt it like this but we all have seen forgers attempt ones much worse.  It's the forger swrewed up and didn't want to waste the photo and just did whatever came to mind.

Every time I give an autograph the benefit of the doubt I turn out wrong. There's a lesson here....
