As I heard from my friends - its almost impossible to get Ritchie Blackmore now.... He is very seclusive, refuses to sign anything related to Purple or Rainbow, when he decides to sign, maybe that you have a chance with Blackmores Night albums, but definately zero chance with stuff from his former bands.
have to agree there, ritchie must be the hardest unless you can persuade him your really into his medieval dirges rather than his masterful solo on rainbows stargazer...and i'm not that good of a liar
Ritchie have always been a tough signer. I have been able to meet him 5 times and got in total about 20 autographs from him. So I have the Deep Purple and Rainbow records signed by him. I have tried for the longest time to find David Stone from Rainbow. I think he lives in Canada, but are not quite sure. Any help are appreciated.
Hello Carl.
I haven't get Ritchie since 1995, so I can't say if yours is real or not. It looks so much better than the in person autographs that you get today if you are able to get him to sign.
And the inscription on the photo acutally says: Regards Ritchie Blackmore.
Just for the interest - I have to add the information about the California Jam book. There was a limited number of signature edition - the publisher of the book was able to arrange signing of 300 pieces from Jon Lord (who sadly died just few weeks after signing these books - he was very seriously sick, but he agreed to do that), Ian Paice, David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. The only one who didnt agree with signing these books was Ritchie Blackmore. After Jon´s death he agreed to sign 1 piece and it should be part of the charity auction...
You can see it here:

That is a nice book. Was given an odd address about a year ago by a collector in NY for Blackmore. For the hell of it I sent two CD covers to get signed not even sure the address was good. I never got my CD covers back but got this photo back instead. I thought it was good but wasn't sure since I had never gotten him before. I tossed it in a folder until I saw the book you posted. Looks closer to the signature in that book then the crazy looking stuff on EBAY. Now I'm really curious about it. Here is the picture:
I also heard many times that Ritchie is impossible. But when I took my vinyl UK 1st pressing of "In Rock" and spent some time after the show - Ritchie came out, signed my record from the car, added my name (Maxim) to it and was supernice. Completely oppisite to the stories I heard about mr. Blackmore. So it seems it was his good day.
You can break em down mate!
Saw Glen Frey this past summer in NJ. Six people waiting for him as he exited stage door. Not even a nod. Right into the limo. I heard Don Henley is just as bad. Eagles - Never again.
