I'm a newbie so forgive me if I'm overlooking something basic here...I was interested in a signed Gene Simmons lp on Ebay - authenticated by PSA (# checks out on psa website). I've contacted the seller (worldofautographs2009) and asked if they were the same WofA based out of CA - which seems to get decent reviews from users here. No reply. So my concern now is the seller made a point to create a username SIMILAR to a reputable company in hopes of stealing some good faith. BUT at the same time, the PSA details seem to check out...

Any opinions on the situation (or the signature) would be appreciated! I know the large majority of items on Ebay are fake, so I'm going against my better judgement even considering it! Thanks!

UACC RD 237 that this seller indicates the piece will come with their COA is Michael Kasmar of Autograph Pros and a regular poster and AML member.  The PSA number is P75475.

so if it's legit then it's a resale;

A Certificate Of Authenticity COA will be included from UACC Registered Dealer #237 & 2011 UACC Autograph Dealer Of the Year documenting the autograph shown is authentic and a hand signed original. -  A hand signed Lifetime Guarantee Of Authenticity is included. - PSA/DNA Autograph Authentication - PSA # P75475

here is the picture of it for those more familiar;

Autograph Pros consigns inventory to dealers so it may not be previously owned. Check with them. www.autographpros.com

If you look at this ebay used ID worldofautographs2009. Everything they have for sale is the same as autograph pros website. So I guess they consign everything to them.

And if you look at autograph pros ebay user Id it is in NLR status.

Seems like one in the same.

Just an observation don't know if it matters. Somebody pointed this out on another autograph forum earlier this year so I am just passing it along.

and they seem cheaper on autographpros.

doesn't that ebay ID however impede on your company name?

Yes and its a real low class move however eBay's legal department refused to do anything about it.

I get calls at least once a month from their customers looking for customer service.

Maybe u could try qualifying as a VERO.  Nothing seems straightfoward with EBAY these days.

Of course when it's EBAY on the other side of the coin and it's goofbay it's another matter entirely.

I am a VeRO member.

What do you suggest?

Geez.... I didn't see you on the list but I realize the list doesn't id all the veros.  I presume then you have filed an NOCI asserting infringement of an intellectual property.  The question would then be for them to answer is - How Similar can these EBAY IDs be without being considered copyright infringement of the coprighted or trademarked (Business Name).  Of course, if the name is trademarked (not that expensive and can be done thru a registrant for a small fee + the $325 US filing fee) it perhaps strengthen the argument.

Of course anything is possible with EBAY Legal (or impossible as the case may be) these days especially but one would think if trademarked noone could use worldofautographs (with a suffix or w/o) except the rightful owner.

thanks, guys.

I just looked up this item on Autograph Pros and it is for sale on their website. It is alot cheaper on their site since it is actually coming from them. Ive called them a few times before and they are very patient if you have questions. Good Luck

Thanks, William. I noticed that price difference myself. I think $250 is still a little steep for the item. Kiss sells lithos from their site signed by Gene & Paul for $300. Plus, I don't think Kiss autographs are too hard to come by.

Steiner had a Kiss signed 16 x 20 of all 4 current members the other day on their website for $199. Sounded like a good price to me with the Steiner authentication.
