At one point, I felt I had a good grip on Ruth signatures, but there have been some good quality forgeries on the market. If someone handed me this my initial reaction would not be a positive one. I am curious what the members here might think.

Authenticity aside, is it even legal on ebay to charge $30.00 for STANDARD shipping for an item that might cost $3.00 to ship?

I can't comment on the authenticity, but remember signature confirmation/insurance is going to cost more than $3.
it says $30.00 for STANDARD shipping in the listing.
That doesn't mean insurance is free. I didn't say it wasn't a bit of markup, but it's allowed.
actually its not.

you are allowed to charge only what your costs are. now back to the authenticity issue.
I don't see anything which says it's unreasonable to charge $30 for a $3,400 item even if it's a small-sized item. It's a 'guesstimation' beforehand based on what the item might cost to ship. You don't go out and get shipping quotes for it. People give themselves a cushion to work with. I've talked to eBay about this.
ok point well taken.
I've seen similar ones offered by top auction houses before, generally precertified or fully certified by PSA/DNA and JSA. It's not one that I'd want to own as my own Ruth, no matter what. I like the ones with more of his classic style.
but are they basing the opinion on "Sincerely"? because there are a few things with the signature that seem out of place, at least to me.
