After some searching, I've seen hundreds and hundreds of signed index cards, both vintage and modern, with authentication stickers VERY close to the actual signature.

What is your preference with signed index cards?

I personally prefer ones with no authentication at all; I believe the sticker on a signed index card ruins the piece.

Of course, this opens up the debate of the purpose of the authentication stickers to begin with; I guess we could continue that debate.

I can't stand authentication stickers on the fronts of index cards. I don't even like them on the front of signed photos.

I feel the same; especially for index cards, why don't the companies put the sticker on the back?  With any other items (photo, ball, guitar etc) at least the sometimes put the sticker away from the signature. With index cards, sometimes the sticker is slapped right against the signature!

I hate them on the front as well. Always have.

I specifically request that the items I submit receive stickers on the back. Most of the time (90% of the time) they comply but on occasion they forget or make a mistake and put them on the front.

If more people start to request this on a regular basis maybe it will become a standard optional request on submission forms.

I agree it should be a regular standard.  If you specify location of the sticker and they do not comply they should pay the price of the item.  Especially with index cards; it is impossible to remove that sticker with ruining the paper
